I would not be against that....But I am not sure if Columbus would go for it.
I don't know...apparently, some in the hockey world don't believe Mr. Nash will be willing to re-up with them after his contract expires at the end of next season...

For anyone who's interested, Jason's explanation for that last Flames goal: ``They kept going backdoor, backdoor and hit the short side guy,'' said Jason LaBarbera. ``I didn't read it right. It hit the post and hit me. Obviously, you'd like to make the save there. That's frustrating.''
Anyone else getting tired of watching Doughty and Quincey making spectacular diving plays left and right because we can't make a simple pass? I mean they they look great, but for crying out loud....

That quote (in bold) sums up his NHL career to date.
No way in hell Lombardi passes on a guy like Hedman. Trust me.
Kings take Tavares. They already have Doughty, Johnson, Hickey, Tuebert, Voinov, Quincey, Green, Campbell, Martinez. Why draft ANOTHER defensemen? I know not all of them will develop the way we hope, but it looks like Doughty, Johnson, Tuebert, and Hickey will.
Besides, having another big time center would take some pressure off of Kopitar. And we have all seen how he has done so far this season with the opposing team keying in on him.
I dont see why some people would rather have Hedman. Im not puttin anyone down by saying that, but I would like to know why those people would rather take Hedman

Maybe because Hedman could be better than all of the current defenseman/prospects, and possibly the best player on the team. And you could also trade away a couple of those dmen.
But Tavares is going to be the next great goal scorer. He's like the sniper version of Kopitar. Having Frolov dishing passes to Tavares..wow. Can't go wrong with either player.

Because defense wins championships!
With the Johnson injury, there is a chance that his agent and DL could bump head in contract negotiations over the summer. If we draft Hedman that would definitely soften the blow of losing Johnson. And if everything goes well with Jonhson, then we could trade Preissing for another forward.
I guess my greatest point here is that defense wins championships, and getting a talent such as Hedman on the back line is an invaluable commodity in a league such as the NHL.
