I hope you all are enjoying a nice and relaxing Sunday afternoon /evening/Sunday night/Monday morning….whatever the hell time it is where you are.
For me this has been one of the best Sundays of my whole life. Some of you know that I’ve been talking about getting engaged and finding the proper moment to do so.
Well….today was the day, as of 1:15pm EST, H10H has taken a giant step towards the dark side. No I’ve not become a huge Star Wars fan, I finally did it. I built up the courage to finally ask my beautiful gf to marry me.
After 5 plus years of being with the same woman, I decided that there is no one else I would rather share the rest of my life with.
So with my future in laws staying with us this weekend, I thought I would put my plan in motion. Saturday morning I arranged for my gf and her Mom to be out of the house.
When they were gone, I sat down with my future father in law and explained how I was deeply in love with his daughter, and wanted his permission to marry her. Her family is old fashion, otherwise I wouldn't have done that.
Now that sounds like something that would be pretty easy to do. But he is a very intimidating man. So after a few seconds of sitting there waiting for his response. I wasn’t sure if I should laugh and say I was kidding, or run like the wind.
At that moment he looked at me with a big smile on his face and with a big laugh says “We must celebrate!” he got up and gave me a big bear hug. We proceeded to make several toasts *with vodka of course*
Ok with that out of the way, the next part of my plan was to figure out how and where I was going to pop the question. I wanted to do something different, but I was also limited on time.
Well then I remembered something my gf had told me earlier in our relationship. *Who says guys don’t listen* lol
My gf has always wanted to ride in a helicopter. Don’t ask me why, because I have no idea. But I figured that it could make for an interesting way to propose.
So I arranged for us to go on a noon hour romantic helicopter ride over looking the shoreline of downtown Toronto. Ok, maybe not the most romantic location, but like I said, I was strapped for time.
We boarded the helicopter and within seconds we were up in the air looking at the scenery while sipping a glass of wine. After a few minutes of looking around and laughing like little kids, I grabbed my gf’s hand and looked her in the eyes and said Wow, I can see right inside that woman’s bedroom. *I was nervous, so I usually say something stupid when I am* Once the stars left my sight after she playfully smacked me in the side of the head, I continued on with my little speech.
There isn’t a moment in time that passes without me thinking of you, about how important you are to me and how I can’t and don’t want to imagine a moment without you in my life.
These past five years you have given me more than I could have ever asked for, more than I could have ever dreamed to want.
I love you so much and there is no one else I would rather spend my life with. *gets down on one knee and pulls the ring box out of his pocket and opens it up*
Will you marry me? She looked at me and smiled with big tears in her eyes and said “It’s about ****ing time....YES!”.
Awww, you gotta love classy ladies. lol
I’ve never been this happy before, and I’m actually shaking with excitement while I’m typing this. I’m happy because I’m going to get to spend the rest of my life with a woman I love and who loves me back. But I’m also happy because if she would have said no, it would have been a shame to push her sexy ass out of the helicopter.
I gotta go spend some time with my future wife, but I just wanted to pop in and share my great news. Everyone have an awesome day.
See? Few hours later, I'm in much better mood. Won the breed in Field Spaniels, Havanese, Belgian Sheepdogs....
Redux, I actually don't *normally* care at all, and it's not a bad thing when people pick on each other. Every place you go has cliques.... You deal and make friends anyways. That is why I "change guys like codpieces" or whatever it was. Already today, I have made friends with two guys. I tend to have WAAAAYYYY more guy friends....
Going to dinner with the crew and the Twisted Sisters tonight. The Sisters and I are gonna go get our tattoos together soon... Seriously the most fun I have ever had is with those two.
Anyways, I'm over it. I don't care...
LW, hope you feel better soon.... Sounds like you have a pretty damn good cold going.
Thanks. The cold is mostly gone, but my asthma always flares up at the end of a cold. The more I cough, the more inflamed my lungs get and the harder it is to stop coughing. I took cough syrup at 10:30 and used my inhaler around 11, and it finally started to subside about an hour ago... I'd love to lie down for awhile, but lying flat starts it back up again 9 times out of 10.
Havaneses too? One of my coaches had a Havanese... OMG was she cute.
