100% correct. This is the major changed which allowed him to be an NHL backup goaltender in the first place. For some reason, last night he went back to his old ways playing too deep...

You think he came out of his crease enough when he dived out infront for the puck?! jk

Hopefully this is the game that makes the team humble, pulls them to earth and makes them start playing simple quick effective hockey.

No chance in hell he starts for another team. The third period last night shows it. When he faces wide open hockey he lets in shots right and left. The first 2 periods he faced nothing last night but once the Leafs got some momentum goals poured in. Because he is so tall it's only natural for his reflexes to be slower, and he can't handle certain shots.

VAlly is a good backup and that's it..........he blew it last night but the whole team did too so whatever

I think next yr they let him go and bring in Wikman because he is ready and is cheaper...........cap space will be a issue with the Dubi and Zherdev getting big deals likely

Valiquette has never been a starting goaltender in the AHL either. And if for some reason he's demoted (doubtful at this point), he won't be a starter then either--it would ****** the development of a prospect.

Valiquette has done pretty well for himself--he's 31 and he's still playing a game he loves and making enough money at it to be pretty comfortable. Nice work if you can get it.

Former Ranger and no. 1 goalie of the ECHL affiliate Charlotte Checkers Chris Holt is the backup for St. Louis... so I guess it could be worse than Valley... all kiddin' aside, he just had a s... game, he needs to forget about it and move on...

St Louis has played something like 5 goalies this season already--the fact that Holt is on their roster indicates desparation due to injuries, not an incredible jump in Holt's ability to play goal.
