Tim Thomas would be 3rd on our depth chart for goalies... don't see how he would help our team.

I'd say

Halak > Thomas.

Has to be Lucic. The Habs need a guy that plays like him. I love Gui but Lucic does the things Gui should be doing. He would instantly be a fan favourite too.

I'd trade Savard for Plekanec straight up.

He'd probably love to come here. There's a lot more places in Montreal to get his eyebrows plucked and get facials to moisturize that beautiful, smooth skin of his.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Blake Wheeler. 5th overall pick in '04, 6'4" 220 lbs, 3 goals in 12 games as a rookie this season. Could he better than Lucic?

No. Lucic made the Bruins as a 19 year old and right now has 4 goals 4 assists compared to the 3 goals 2 assists of the 2 year older Wheeler. Plus Lucic throws the body more and fights.

like what...

Sure, the guy's big... but besides that ?

I mean, 1st season, as a 19 years old : 16 goals for Guy, 8 for Lucic...

the forward with most hits last season on the Habs ? Guy... so far this season ? Guy again... oh! and so far this season, Guy has as many "hits per game" than Lucic...

He may not be as spectacular as Lucic, but when it comes to hitting, Guy does the job very well... well enough for his hits to lead to a goal at least (happened 2/3 times already this season)

guess he'll have to break a window too to get some credit!

Chara. We could use the help on defence plus he isn't an original Bruin. No stinky orginal Bruin allowed on the Habs.

I would take Chara as a no-brainer...

Our D will be impressive with him.

I see Bergeron is getting a lot of mention. I think it's a great thing to hear other teams respecting his talent, after such a devastating injury.

I'm talking about going in front of the net and getting dirty goals, a player that can take a beating there on the PP, screen the goalie. A player that talks smack and get under defencemen's skin, not afraid to drop them whenever and when he drops them he is intimidating. Considering what he's gone through in his career Lucic also has a lot of heart and plays with a chip on his shoulder. His physical presence would help the Habs tremendously in the playoffs, as they had no answer for Philly in that department.

I'd take Lucic. Young, strong player who doesn't shy away from contact. Too bad we drafted Maxwell 1 pick before him...he would have been scary on our team. But knowing how we bring along draft picks, he probably would still be in the minors for another season or two.

Maxwell is going to be a very good player if he can start playing healthy. 5 goals 3 assists in 11 games in his first AHL season. The Habs have a pressing need for centremen in their system, he's the only one. I'm happy with the pick.

You shouldnt post stuff like this until you see Lucic play at least one game. If you already did....then follow the instructions in my previous post.

Me too. Other than him, only Chara, Savard, and Bergeron get even a second thought from me... although Wheeler is intriguing.

I've liked Chara since he was first coming into the league in Ottawa so it's an easy choice for me.
