and wtf is homer meeting with shanahan for?
I'd like this move. as long as its 1 mil or less.

Lets Nodl, Downie and Giroux tear up the AHL.

Gagne-Briere-Knuble/Shanahan
Hartnell-Richards-Lupul
Upshall-Carter-Knuble/Shanahan
Cote-Metro-Asham

Yeah if shanny came in cheap it could mean moving Knuble for a dman, or maybe as part of a package.

What Im curious about is if Biron plays poorly all year and nitty doesnt improve, what do you guys think homer will do with the goalie situation?

I read something on Kukla's site about three days ago and he referenced the Ottawa Sun as I recall. It was a line or two buried in a column.

Knuble isn't going to get you any kind of quality dman.

The only way I think this deal makes sense is if your really going to use it to improve our defense and goaltending future by moving Hartnell or Lupul+ and using Shanny to not have any downgrade on your offense.

There is no guaranty that Khabibulin (who makes twice what MB makes) will play better then Biron and Knuble is not a salary dump.

Flyers could trade Biron to COL for 2nd and prospect and then move Knuble and 5th to Hawks for Khabibulin and prospect and pick (at least 2nd). Sign Shanny

Do you think that Chicago would send Khabi and Cam Barker for Knuble, Kukkonen, and something?

If something is a decent player/prospect, then maybe.

If something is 'junk', not a chance.

This isn't news at all.

What is news, is Homer meeting with Shanahan today. I think management can sense the loss of veteran leadership and how it is hurting this team.

That doesn't address the glaring need though - defense.

What would you consider decent?

I would imagine they would ask for a Parent type player if you asked them for Barker.

that's a pointless swap, they're relatively equal and I'll take the one who is better defensively in Parent.

No Bulin. Doesn't make sense.

I'm not saying I would do it, just throwing a name out there. To get, you have to give. From Chicago's standpoint...they'd be giving a stanley cup winning goalie. It's all relative.

who is way overpaid, not the starter, and is going to be a UFA.

Bulin is not what we need.

Didn't say we did. I don't like him, don't want him here either.

Regardless, he has a Stanley Cup ring. That's just a fact.

No idea what they would give? But if you are Hawks GM would you be interested paying over 11M for two goalies?

Khabi was waived at the beginning of the season so why should the Flyers give anything over 5th round pick and lose Knuble who found his old legs?

As much as it pains me to say this I think if we get rid of Knuble it is going to hurt more than we think just like it did losing Jason Smith. Sure they have their deficiencies but some how this cross eyed mother ****er keeps scoring and if it ain't broke don't fix it.

This rumor is like 4 days old. Nothing really shocking here. And it's not going to happen.

i'm not completely opposed to signing shanahan, but isn't the big complaint that he broke down in the latter part of the last two seasons?

sign Shanny, and MAYBE do the Nodl for Barker trade. Being honest, I would like to keep Nodl cause I think he will be a very good player. I dont know how Barker will really help us. I dont know much about him really. Im guessing he would take Alberts spot?

He's struggled defensively so far. If your going to go for Shanny you use someone we have with real value to ACTUALLY get better defensively.

He's only played 4 games, and he has 2 goals.

I always thought of Barker of more of a puck moving defenseman than a shut down guy. I could be wrong.

yeah that's right, but out defense is struggling on defense not in their point production or puck movement

No interest in Nodl!

Barker is tearing it up right now and if we trade him it will be for an established 2nd line LW or C!

I think the whole goalie thing is ridiculous.

But i have a question, who has a higher upside and potential?
Halak or Pavelec?
