Why did the Isles get lucky because their goalie stole a game for them when they were out played? How many time has Lundquist stolen games for the Rangers?
I'm sure you didn't say the Rangers were lucky on those wins. Take the loss and call it a night.

How come Prucha still gets 0:00 of PP time while these other guys who haven't done anything for 14 games on the PP keep getting minute after minute on the PP?

On another topic. The Islanders didn't get lucky. Their goalie played a great game, they hung in there and pounced on the Rangers' mistakes. Plain and simple, the Rangers shot themselves in the foot and the Islanders finished them off.

McDonald stole a game for the Isles plain and simple. He kept the Isles in the game till the 3rd when they tightened up defensively and scored 2 shorthanders. Great shot by Park and nice hand eye coordination by Thompson to net his 1st NHL goal.

I agree, again Prucha impressed on the ice tonight. He is so fricken snakebitten its not even funny anymore. But with the effort hes showing, bump up his icetime by giving him PP minutes, cant get much worse at this point anyways.

Didn't you know. Renney only plays the people that show the least effort out there. Prucha was all over the ice in the first couple games... benched! When he got back again for another game and was all over the ice, benched again. Then we have one of the "spot contenders" Dawes, who was invisible and was not benched. Therefore, if your play is invisible, you are safe from a benching!

Prucha showed hustle and even some tenacity there in a couple of scrums. He simply has to stay, both him and dawes will get it. Both of them are grippin the composite a bit too hard.

I have to say: On the power play it looks a lot like some of my kid's youth hockey teams, where they never have time to practice special teams and basically just throw a line out there and hope for the best.

In the Rangers defense, they had plenty of scoring chances that were robbed by MacDonald. They outplayed the Isles for the whole game (absolutely dominated the second period).

Two huge screwups on the PP, and there goes the game.

Not much to say about this one. McDonald played extremely well. The Power-less Play was what the name says. They got the lucky bounces. Usually the team that works harder gets the bounces. Not so much in this one. If they play this kind of game each night (excluding the PP) we will win plenty of games.

I think Colton Orr could have hit that one in the net. Maybe he would not have been on the ice in that situation, but the vast majority of NHL players could knock a puck like that in the net. It was nothing special. Just a lucky bounce. That puck could have just as easily shot in a different direction.

I guess watching your team get dominated would qualify as boring.

Always sucks when you play pretty well for the majority of the game and come up short. Had some great chances, but tonight McDonald was better. I could have done without the Powerplay though....

the isles are "the knicks of hockey"? really??? if it wasn't for the salary cap you would still be the "the knicks of hockey" like you were pre-lockout.

of course this is a tough loss to swallow. but lets put into perspective that we're still sporting a very respectable record (though many here will argue whether we deserve it or not), and there's still a lot of hockey left to be played for a club that we all know is a work in progress. At least they had, or tried to have a closed door meeting about it after the game. I can't recall ever hearing anything like that happening with prior teams. that gives me hope that the players, to a man know that what has gone on the past 2 games will not stand, and are not symbolic of the jersey they all wear. this is why they play (more than) 82 games a season!

Maybe but the difference is pre-cap or post cap it hasn't changed a thing for the fishies. You still haven't won a playoff series in almost 20 years!!!! That's right, one playoff series in 20 years. That's got to be the worst run of futility in major sports anyone has ever seen!

For the first time I think in the last 30 some years I was not glued to a Rangers game--I was flipping back and forth betweenthe election night coverage and the game. Truly a historic day. Of the Rangers game what I did see McDonald was just standing on his head.
