Thanks for the trip down memory lane Gros Bill. I remember three martini lunches fondly, those balmy Wednesday afternoons when my boss and I used to run our department from the patio of a local pub.

Can you picture me with a martini glass ? I couldn't pull it off. The patio and the pub, sure.

It's a running joke, most of the people who complain about the "French Media" use the erroneous "medias".

Yes I can, though it's an oversized novelty martini glass filled with beer.

For the type of beer mcphee drinks.. I don't think he uses glasses.

Edit:

I thought this would be a good addition to the thread:

Why didn't the surly blogger withhold his rant until the Habs actually begin to decline? He wouldn't have written it about the Sens while they were in their awesome run last season because he was probably afraid they might keep it up. Of course it's quite a feat to get 30 out of 34 points in 17 games the way the Sens did but what if the Habs get 26 out of 34? They're only 9 points away from that benchmark right now, and to reach it they'd just have to get those 9 points in 7 games against Boston (twice), Philadelphia, Ottawa, Columbus, Toronto, and the Isles, which is far from impossible. There's no San Jose, Anaheim, or Detroit in that stretch.

How does this piece of rubbish get published on THN?

Who the hell is John Grigg and why does he get a blog on THN anyway?

The worst part is that they let him participate in the election of their yearly ranking projection.

Seems like it's his first entry. He's one of THN's copy editors. He should stick to inserting and deleting commas, because his "analysis" is brutal. I see better on these boards every day. I've seen better writing on 4chan's boards.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was related to a THN exec.

Hmmmm. he seems to overlook how well the team did last year. then does not factor in improvements. Instead he targets a few stats of individuals, mixes in some character shots, and in the end really says not very much.

The point of his article appears to be the article

Honestly, the more I read it, the more I am flabergasted at this nimwit's thoughts.

I mean, there are reasons to question the Habs based on their inconsistent play so far...

The LAST THINGS that should be doubted are the goalie duo, the forward depth and defenceman like Hamrlik, Komisarek, Bouillon and Gorges not being flashy point producers. Those are all key parts of the success of our team!

I hope that all the NHL's players are going to read it and everytime they 'll play againts the Habs , they just will think " it's going to be an easy game tonight ; we meet the Habs "

THN went down the drain about a year or 2 ago, in the past it was one of the best around tho.

I'll post this for the 20th or so time for the benefit of those who have never seen it: THN's 2006 yearbook predicted Carolina missing the playoffs

Instead they did this:

In a nutshell - THN lost my business a long time ago. I'm a McKeens buyer. THN sucks and can go take a flying leap.

As a Bruins fan, I will say that I actually do believe the Habs hype. The Bruins picked a bad year to step it up with the Habs and what looks like the sabres legit. Why don't we hear more about the Rangers' start being misleading? I watch them a lot b/c I live in NY and I "don't see it". Lundqvist is very good and they play tight defense but I don't think they are a top-tier team. When they slow down and other teams catch up in games played, the Rangers will be in the same group with the Bruins, capitals, Penguins, Flyers & maybe Devils (depending on Weekes' performance) for middle of the road/borderline playoffs. In fact, whomever wins the Atlantic is prime for a 6 or 7 seed upset.

The real question is, for years to come will they refer to other teams as the Canadiens of 08-09 or the Sens of 07-08? Maybe we could do a compromise and call it: To pull a 07-08 Sens in your centenial. I hope we at least have that honor.

10th? What a joke THN is!
