You like the little slick guys ehhh ? I've seen you post in favour of these guys before, I remember disagreeing with you on a similar player from another era.

He is younger, faster, cheaper, but would the CH be better off with him ? I don't think so, not even close. Lang fills a role that Grabs can't, or couldn't. That doesn't diminish him, just means he didn't fit the hole that was there.

Grab has played well for us but Lang is a MUCH better fit for the Habs.

But not "better". Which really is a bit of a deal-breaker I think.

(edit: mcphee beat me to it but then he started talking about "filling holes" and I got weirded out)

There's a general store at the corner and a paving guy put up a sign advertising, Hot Crack Filler.

I was gassing up, my Mom was in the car, how could I tell her why I was laughing.

Leafs fan here.

I'd have to say Lang fits your third line position better because of his size and faceoff ability. Grabovski is looking good for us as a 2nd line center with his offensive prowess and even his determined back checking. However, he's not very good at faceoffs which is essential in a third line role. Also, Lang's size is probably an advantage for you.

As a Leafs fan, I'd rather have Grabo. But I see the benefit for Montreal of Lang in that position instead.

Why are people on Lang's case these days geez ? He had one bad game and everyone is freaking out. Lang >>>>> Grabovski by FAR! Bigger, better on faceoff, better passer and a very quick release. Grabovski is only faster, that's it.

Did you see him vs Montreal? He was non-existent, he'll get 30 pts with the Leafs and disappear once again.

One thing Grabovski can not do is the golf swing to get the puck out on the PK.

Firstly, to answer the question... Lang, by far. He brings size and experience. 2 things the Habs sorely missed before we aqcuired him.

But I have a question. Why does everyone talk about Langs faceoff ability. Has he been good his whole career? Really... I'm asking because I don't know. But I do know one thing. This year, he has been used in many important faceoff situation, and has been the worst faceoff guy on the team. Maybe he'll get better, but so far, this is a bad argument for him.

I was a big fan of Grabs...but I also like Lang. 2 completely different players though, hard to compare. Grabs had accurate shot, great passing abilities and blazing speed. Lang is much stronger, has a better position game, but is also slower. I'd say Lang brings us closer to the cup, but I wouldn't have mind having Grabovski on a 4th line with maybe Pacman and D'Ago(we could have rolled 4 offensive lines?!).

compared to Grabo who falls everytime he gets bumped?

Maybe it's because Lang is to slow to be a part of the play

We could not afford to be patient with him this season. Expectations are to win and it's incompatible with the idea. The leafs on the other hand can be as patient as they want. So this is not even a choice. Lang is the only viable option between the 2.

I'd rather have Grabs if he could get the time he gets now but on our third line. Since that is impossible he probably would not have achieved his skill level with us. So Lang is a better choice. The best choice however is not to give Grabs to the leafs, Gainey could have just given the leafs a legitimate 1st line center that we get to deal with for years.

Good move trading Grabs bad move trading him within the division. One step forward possibly two steps back.
