Toronto Tampa Bay

To Tampa Bay:
Ian White
Carlo Colaiacovo

To Toronto:
Jussi Joikenen (sp?)
3rd in 09

Tampa gets a sound defencemen and a forward who can be versitale and switch to d.

Toronto gets the forward depth they were looking for and sopmeone who might help them win a few shootouts and the pick given up for hollweg.

I would definitely do this.

Steen - Antro - Jokinen
Hagman - Grabs - Kulemin
Poni - Moore - Blake
Hollweg - Stajan - Mayers

Would be my new forward lines, but probably wouldn't happen because Ron Wilson has a thing for Poni on the 1st line..

The Leafs wouldn't trade Frogren already.

i think its a fair trade, and before the season i would have said yes, but i don't think Tampa does this. Jussi Jokinen has really shown his worth this season, he had 2 goals tonight and has found his nitch at the 3rd line center spot.

Also I think Tampa's defense is done being changed at least. I know they are not that great, but with time and growth they will be fine. They aren't having trouble stopping goals at this point they are having trouble scoring them. So i think Jussi stays

Dunno, by adding CC and Ian they may get some cap space free and sign the next free agent that walks around

The value in this deal looks about even, I think both teams would benefit.

I'd do that. If anything we'd stop losing shootouts

Jokinen is very valuable to this team, does so many different thing well, and as a 3rd liner has put up more points than any of our 2nd liners. The line of Artyukhin, Jokinen, and Recchi is really starting to click, and with this team's inability to score goals, over stopping them, there's no need to trade Jokinen for two more defensemen. He's not untradeable, but we aren't getting anything back in this proposal that interests me. especially after seeing this same trade being proposed every other week.

Agreed, if Tampa would do it, I'd much rather the original deal, but i don't think Toronto would mind dropping it to a 5th...I don't think they'd move Frogren, once he completely adapts to the NA game, he can be a force on d with Schenn and Finger.

I do agree that Jokinen would definitely help Toronto in scoring but more importantly in shootouts. As for Tampa, they get a versatile player in White who can be a puck-moving defenseman or a fast energy forward and Coli should be able to thrive if given a real opportunity to play.
