I believe Carbo wants to use those back-to-back games to warm up everyone (4th liners, both goalies and O'Byrne/Breezer) for the intense few weeks up ahead. I want Laraque to play against the Leafs, and I'm pretty sure Carbo wants it too.

Two words : Ryan Hollweg. He's as vicious as they come. He already managed to get his ass suspended twice this season/pre-season, and that's within the 6:30 average time on ice Wilson gives him. That has to be some sort of accomplishment.

I dunno if Mr. Hollweg would fight Laraque, his tactics seem limited to hitting people into the boards from behind.

My hockey blood-level is so low that I've been craving for anything hockey-related the past week... They could have made movies about dismantled zambonis or the history of jockstraps in the NHL and I would have gone crazy. Thank god just one more day to go!

I say 5-1 Montreal on this one, with goals from Koivu, Tender, Higgins, Pleks and Hammer!

Oh and great GDT work btw!

I dont think we will lose this one, even with Halak in net but I suggest you to watch Derrick Brassard carefully, he is a hell of a hockey player, leads the teams in pts despite playing on the second line and getting PP2 time... He is a beauty to watch, I hope it opens Latendresse's eye to improve further and become a better hockey player in this league cause Brassard is already clearly among the best...

Even though they suck at D and G positions, we have to watch out for their 2 top lines who aren't bad at all. Hopefully we'll have the Halak that played against Florida and not the Halak that played vs Anaheim..

Thank God Price isn't playing this game with his kryptonite (Umberger) on the other side ! On that note, i see us winning this game 3-1 with the third goal an empty netter.

Yes their top 2 lines are pretty talended but arent flawless, they will give you some 3 on 2 and 2 on 1 through the game.. Umberger is struggling since the begin of the season and more I watch this guy more I question myself about his offensive skills.. Brassard should be their #1 center but Hitch continue to use him on the second line and on the second PP unit, whats a good thing for us.. If we work as hard as them, we should win this game with no prob..

I got the feeling back then that Umberger's playoff stint was just an illusion.
Good to hear, since he's one of the few players I dislike enough to have used voodoo on him (along with Tucker, Briere and Chara).

Actually Umberger has 4 goals in his last 3 games so it looks like he's starting to heat up.

Boy, are you guys early with this one...

I've been filling in the "other side" for awhile now (on boards that have activity) so here is how things are looking from our side of the ice...

Beauty of a comeback against Edmonton. The team is starting to show some resiliency, which has never happened in previous seasons. They came back 3 times against Chicago to force it to a SO (which they lost), they were down 3 and almost pulled a "Montreal" against the Islanders by getting to overtime, they went from 2-0, to 2-4, to 5-4 to win against Edmonton.

The gelling has begun with the roster, but Hitch has warned the fanbase that it will be a rollercoaster ride this season.
Quote:
Only 13 games into the season, coach Ken Hitchcock seems resigned to it. He would rather play textbook hockey -- get the lead, shut it down, go celebrate -- but with three rookies in the lineup, that's not in the cards.

Yes, three rookies. Mason joined rookies Brassard and Voracek in the lineup.

"To be quite honest with you," Hitchcock said, "this is just our team. When you play young, skilled players, you're going to go through peaks and valleys during a 60-minute game.

"We're going to be an entertaining team all year. We're not going to be out of any game, because we can score goals and we can create offense. But it's not always going to be pretty."
http://www.bluejacketsxtra.com/live/...6.html?sid=101

Nash is turning things around. He has been a bit invisible, but he started turning in on during the Edmonton game.
Quote:
-- LW Rick Nash is back. He was a monster in the third period. Oilers winger Ethan Moreau is a big, strong lad. Nash took the puck from Moreau like Chris Loney used to steal my lunch money. This is a good sign.
http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/

Against Edmonton, Chimera was on the top line with Nash and Umberger while Huselius was on the 2nd line with the Vorassard (as our board has been calling them).
Klesla didn't play, if he does, expect Tollefsen to sit.

Norenna has a "groin injury".
Quote:
-- Goaltender Fredrik Norrena was a late scratch with a groin injury. That's what the club said, anyway. When Tom Reed asked Norrena if his groin was injured, he said "no comment." Here's a question: if Norrena has a groin injury, how can he serve as the back-up?
http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/

One more quote from the blog...
Quote:
-- The Blue Jackets are tied for seventh in the NHL with 39 goals scored. Who are these guys?

-- The Blue Jackets are 27th in the NHL with 45 goals allowed. Who are these guys?

I know a lot of Jackets' fans are really excited about this one. Have the CBJ finally turned the corner? I can't wait to see.
