He started in the ECHL and has now played a few games in the AHL. Has he even played a few games for the Rangers yet? If not, I didn't know you could waive someone who wasn't on your active roster.

No games yet. I think they're doing it as a favor to see if any NHL team wants him. I wanted to give him a shot but we have too many extra forwards.

Presumably a precursor to letting him go back home, I guess.

If he's going back home, I'm gonna laugh until I fall asleep.

Possibly trying to remove a contract from the books due to the 50 contracted player rule? I know the Rangers aren't right at the 50 contract mark (at least I don't think they are), but if I remember right they are very close to it.

EDIT: Rangers currently have 48 contracted players.

Forward Andreas Jamtin, the 25-year-old Swedish agitator who singed a free-agent deal with the Rangers in mid-June and played in Hartford and Charlotte, is returning to Sweden, the team confirmed today. He may have a deal with his former club HV71

Unsuprising development there, I was astounded when he was signed in the first place. I expect Per Ledin will follow him soon.
