Also Giroux is also struggling in AHL and is an unproven talent. Barker has already proven to be an NHL dman.
Giroux isn't struggling (7 points in 11 games). IIRC, he was bothered by a minor injury or something during camp. Downie has 8 points in 4 games for the Phantoms as well.
The Flyers have some young forwards that are near ready, and they need defensive help now. There has to be at least one rebuilding team, or a team that needs wingers in general, that has a dman they're willing to move.
With the way Barker is playing at the moment he isn't going to be moved.
Wow that's almost as good as Barker's PPG ratio in the AHL this year.
yeah, i've been kind of disappointed with claude's performance thus far, but i'm not ready to dump him either. he's clearly still adjusting to the AHL. it's his rookie season, i'm willing to give him the time to learn the ropes.
Barker looks great with Campbell, especialy on the top PP unit. He isnt going anywhere.
And capwise they could bring him up after so many games because he was not able to achieve the games played bonus and that along with Brouwer replacing Skile (who had a first rounders contract) freeed up enough space to call him up.
