Ducks-Islanders

to ANA: Mike Comrie

to NYI: Brendan Morrison

Essentially, a change of scenery move and a swap for each team`s second line centres, in hopes of improving each team`s fortunes.
Ducks acquire a still young second line centre in Comrie while dumping an aging Brendan Morrison.

What is the Islanders incentive on doing this?

They get rid of a lazy centre and acquire someone who will actually compete.

Apparently Morrison has sucked ass this year, regardless of whether he "actually competes" or not.

He's also made excuses in the media (Vancouver radio with Tom Larscheid, specifically) about his play this year, suggesting that he has not been "actually competing" because of the low motivation factor of playing outside of a major hockey market and his home town.

I would think the Ducks would have to throw in a pick and/or prospect to even this one out - if they even have the cap space (they don't).

6th rounder + Comrie for Morrison?

When did he make those excuses?, I thought he said the reason he was sucking was because he lacked the acceleration and skating ability since he had surgery.

And therefore why would Anaheim do it if he's so lazy. Oh right Morrisson has one point and is a -8

I'd just like to say that I just assume that anyone who makes a 'comrie to my team' thread is a Hilary Duff stalker.

This is a recording:

Contenders do not trade for Mike Comrie types to play center. He is a defensive liability. As a winger, perhaps, not as a center. And while Morrison is never going to win any Selke Awards, he is much more responsible than Comrie (faint praise at that).

Please get beyond names and consider "context" when suggesting a deal - is that asking too much?

Brian Burke is not thinking "Gee whiz, how can I add more goals!...without giving a damn about my team's solid defensive personality."
