Man oh man, I was forced to watch this game on the Columbus station cause my dish is down and geez, the biggest HOMER commentators I've ever heard. How many "OH BABY, BABY THIS" do I have to hear. Like to drunk old men watching the game...really had to put it on mute cause they were making me sick.
Game was really slow pace, what can you expect being off for such a long time. Happy with the point, I would have considered putting in Price for the shootout, Halak is just too small for shootouts...
I would have put Sergei in the shootout, Carbo did that several times by putting a guy in a slump to boost his confidence, espescially when youre slumping player scored the equalizer. Just saying..
I guess Huet snuck into Halak's equipment. Weak 3rd period goal plus bad shootout. Thought we got rid of that monster.
Halak, for sure, wasn't great tonight.. but he made a few nice saves at key times (2 on 1 late in the 3rd, slot shot in OT)..
He still hasn't lost in regulation.. so I see no reason to really bash him yet. When you're backup is 2-0-1 to start the season.. you should be pretty happy.

Putting in a cold goalie for the shootout has been done 4 times in the NHL.
The cold goalie has made 0 saves in those 4 shootouts....
All-in-all, I thought Columbus played a pretty good game and contained the offense fairly well. I'd attribute the loss moreso to Columbus playing well than Montreal playing badly.
Man, i really tried to like Halak from the first time he played, i know he was a star in the AHL but... i just don't like him at all in the NHL, he's giving way too much easy goal and he's not improving at all... That was an easy win if we had Price... Nvm, i just hope the Halak experiment is over, lets send him down to Hamilton for him to rebuild his confidence and work on his weakness and bring back Denis ASAP !
I think right now he's not helping us and we are not helping him by using him in the NHL, he's not ready.
