This...

Everyone will improve now that we're entering a more normal schedule. Halak needs to work on a few things, and he will.

That's 3 out of 4 games (Columbus, Islanders, Hurricanes) where I would've been happy with one point. We managed to win two, but not tonight. It's a frustrating trend and we're going to lose more than we win if we keep playing like this. On one hand you want to say something like "good teams find a way to win" but on the other hand, you start asking when you're going to see a full 60 minute effort.

Why does Carbo like to put us behind the eightball in the shootouts? He rarely starts off with Koivu and Kovalev, and at home he always chooses to shoot second. I don't get the strategy there.

If i become his official hater after my discussion about him today so be it. My god was Chris Higgins atrocious! Did you guys see him? especially in OT, first he passes to Komisarek when he's covered then he doesn't have the intelligence to look if Koivu actually crossed the blue line before going over at full speed. We're 15 at my house right now and we're all thinking why the heck did Carbo move Latendresse from that line, not because i consider it a demotion to play with Land and S,Kost, but man, Chris except for useless skating brings nothing Tender didn't bring in the 1st place.

And some of you would rather get rid of Kovalev or Tanguay before Higgins

He lost the puck that's pretty sad

Habs grab a point despite an iffy game from their goaltender.

Can't win them all, I'll take it.

I just hope they still have legs for the Leafs tomorrow.

That was an easy win if we had Price... Nvm, i just hope the Halak experiment is over, lets send him down to Hamilton for him to rebuild his confidence and work on his weakness and bring back Denis ASAP !
Have you seen Denis in the last 2-3 years?

Could we have won with Price in the game? Maybe, but who really knows.

Halak didn't play in a game for TWO WEEKS. Price hadn't played for ONE WEEK. I'd bet neither goalie is at the top of their game.

On a side note.. Halak has had a horrible start and a mediocre one.. both with very extended periods of time off.

He's not an NHL backup.
He was fighting the puck all night long. You could just tell he was gonna fold at some point, and a shootout is just the ultimate test for a weak goalie. And yes, knowing Gainey, he would much prefer having an experienced backup, to a floundering rookie backup goalie.

it won't be another 6-1 route, wilson knows how to get the best out of his players
should be intense

i hope this is the last major break we have, not including christmas, so that we can see our team in real game shape every night

Yeah.. that's why Halak is with the team and Denis is in the minors.. right?

The shootout isn't the 'ultimate' test.. it's 95% luck. Price has had some pretty brutal shootouts too.. the game against Buffalo he was BAD in the shootout.

The shootout is a gimmick (I don't mind it), but it is what it is. Luck. If it was based on skill, Kovalev would be one of the best shooters.. however, he's very mediocre in the shootout.

OMG HALAK HAD ONE BAD GAME!!! TRADE!!!

This is what a lot of you sound like. It's not like our AHL starter is gonna do any better than a guy who is STILL statistically undefeated at the Bell Centre. Grow the **** up.

I don't have a lot of confidence for tomorrow. The Leafs actually work hard. The Canadiens lately seem to be coasting by on talent alone.

when halak plays deep in his net he's toast. not big enough to make those saves. he needs to play aggressive and control his rebounds. in the SO he wasn't ready for the huselius shot (thought it was good) and while he was undressed by brassard he was again swimming back in his crease

It's one thing to be a fan, it's a another to be a cheerleader...Halak is a fine young goalie but he was pretty bad tonight and especially in the SO.

but hey still 71 games to go and lots of them for Jaroslav!

I analyse what I see. The easiest thing is to always be positive about no matter what we're talking about. I prefer being an objective supporter than a blind fanatic, thanks a lot.
