What's up with the Kostitsyns???

Andrei--8 games, 1 goal, 2 assists for 3 points
Sergei--10 game, 2 goals, 2 assists for 4 points

Is it just me or are the Kostitsyns looking frighteningly like wall-flowers.

Andrei is playing on the same line he excelled on last year. So it doesn't make much sense why he hasn't been the same. He's on pace for only 31 points.

Sergei is on our third line (on the second last year) so that's a little more exceptable. But 3 of his 4 points were on one night and he hasnt registered a point in 7 games. he's on pace for 33 points. To put that in perspective he had only 6 less than that in 30 less game.

So what's wrong? What can be done about it? Line changes? Carbo has found chemistry and were winning games so maybe we shouldnt fix what ain't broke but yeah...

Andrei is feeling ill effects from the hit he got.

Sergei feels back that Andrei is feeling ill effects from the hit he got.

Try counting the number of times someone passes the puck to him in the offensive zone. That's a part of it right there. Hopefully that line clicks soon because for now, they may as well play with a 2 man forward line.

Andrei has always been a slow starter. Every year he's been in North America

2nd year in Hamilton had like 8 points after the first 18 games
3rd year he had 0 goals in the first 10 games (Ended up with 20 in 50)
Last year in Montreal we all know about his October and November. He was a 0.90 PPG player from December onward.

Like Dave said, watch how much Andrei gets the puck.

When he gets it, you'll notice him, he's always doing something with it.

Anyone know if there's a time of possession stat per player? 'Cause I bet if you contrasted Andrei's time of possession this year with last year, you'd understand why he can't get anything going.

Maybe it's because we have an amazingly balanced attack? Over the next 10 games maybe 46 will have 12 points, 74 will have 10 and Koivu and Tanguay will have 3 and 4 points, who knows?

Ovechkin has 2 goals so far so I guess he is only scoring 16 this year.

Wait more than 10 games before calling someone out. They will be fine....

Yeah if everyone played awesome every game we would be 82-0. Everyone has their ups and downs, it's only normal...

Totally Ive been thinking that maybe a line change would change something.

Higgins-Plekanec-Kovalev
AKost-Koivu-Tanguay
Lats-Lang-SKost

Im all up for this but the Higgins-Koivu-Tanguay has been good and the Akost Pleks Kovy was magic last year and hopefully they'll kick in soon. Like I said why fix what aint broken. We sure aint broken but we could be running a little better if all of our players were playing to full potential.

Just shell shock, depression, anxiety and even a bit of schizophrenia after the hit. And I'm talking about Sergei, Andrei's just cold.

What's happening with Andrei is Kovalev hogging the damn puck.

Honestly, if this thread wasn't made, that goal wouldn't have been scored.

Nope. Kovalev did not play the same game last year. That line was a lot more giving a going. Now it's Kovalev getting and going around the ice in circles.

I think he's doing the same, he's just looking for the complex plays instead of the simple ones. Granted I guess that means it's not the same as last year.
