Ottawa - St. Louis

To Ottawa: Lee Stempniak

To St. Louis: Antoine Vermette

Ottawa gets a RWer that can play on their top line with Heatley/Spezza (that's where Vermette is right now, but he's much more suited to be a center) and St. Louis gets a centerman for their 2nd line.

Both guys are the same age and are signed for one more season after this year at pretty much the same cap hit.

I'd do it from STL's perspective - they're weak up the middle, allowing Tkachuk to play at left wing where he's more effective. Stempniak's offense won't be missed because there simply hasn't been enough of it to miss.

Hey..Thats not bad.

Congrats on a legit proposal.

For anyone wondering;
Stemp signed through this season and next 2.5m.
Vermette signed through this season and next 2.7m.

Stempniak aged 25years.
Vermette aged 26years.

Stempniak on his 4th NHL season..career high 27G-52pts
Vermette on his 5th NHL season..career high 24G-53pts.

Fair. I think Vermette is overrated so some Sens fans might not be so pumped about it but it seems fair

This trade can only happen at the end of the season, depending on either's performance. It doesn't look too bad, though.

What is going on. A legitimate proposal? I don't remember the last time I've seen that around here...

The change of scenery could do some good, maybe push them beyond their 50 points. St. Louis doesn't really need another center but Vermette can man the wing.

As a Sens fan, I love it but I figured Blues fan would want a little more from us to get this done. Definitely does help both teams, doesn't it.

This makes sense for both teams IMO, and the value is fair.. Good proposal

not a bad offer at all. St. Louis is snakebit with injuries right now and are trying a -Stempniak-McClemment-Backes 2nd line and if they can rekindle their chemistry, I don't think St. Louis moves Stemp.

Pretty fair if you ask me. If Vermette was playing centre, I wouldn't see the point for Ottawa. But since they're not even using him as a centre, it makes perfect sense to trade him.

IMO St. Louis would win the trade

but a fair trade nonetheless

As much as I love Stempy, this is tempting. But we have plenty of centers.
