EDM/NJ proposal

How about this:

Schremp and Rolson for Madden.

This gives the oilers the solid center they need and gives the Devils a young up and coming scorer and some insurance for Weekes.

Wouldn't be too bad, but Madden is a very, very key figure to our team. So unfortunately, no dice.

Roli can be had for a pick. I am hoping the Oil light up weekes tomorrow to force Lou's hand. He could even promise to Pick him up on re-entry waivers for half price. Please Lou take him please take him.

Do you really think tht Lou Lamoriello is going to overreact to a bad game by Kevin Weekes and run out to make a move?

He is the GM of an NHL team, not a fantasy league team.

The trade proposal is horrendous from NJD's POV. A guy yet to prove he is NHL-worthy and a goalie they currently do not need for one of their most valuable players over the last decade and a guy who to this very moment remains a key contributor, a "glue guy?

Madden is a UFA at the end of the season. If he is just a rental, this is more than enough for value. If he agrees to a 3 year extension in Edmonton, then the Oilers would have to add something.

This is the same guy who fired the coach with 10 games left or less, just a guess. He has been known to overreact. Otherwise i was joking anyways. Relax.

BTW if Weekes is not playing tomorrow who is?

If the Devils do trade for a goalie it will be for this reason " OMG MARTY HIS HUMAN ! ". It would be a young goalie.

Only way the Devils do trade for a Vet goalie. Weekes goes down or just hits the lowest point in his carrer.

I think the Sens would be upset if they can not use the pick untell 3009.

I know its just a mistake but still funny.

I wouldn't mind if the Devils traded for some goalie depth. After Weekes there is...uh well there is Weekes. Theres nothing wrong in suring up depth, or maybe even friendly competition to make sure Weekes doesn't become complacent.

I'd do it for sure. Madden is exactly the type of player the Oilers need.

Veteran playoff exerpience? Check
Faceoffs? Check
Penalty Kill? Check
5 on 5 Defense? Check Check

Also brings some decent offense for a 3rd liner.

Moreau-Madden-Pisani

My dream come true.

My only question with that is what happens to the "Depth" Goalie when marty is back for the last month and a half or so. If it's someone like Roloson do you just put him on waivers and hope someone bites. If he clears do you put him on re-entry or wait for him to say screw the AHL and bolt to russia.

I will... because I agree with others who say the Devils won't do this. Madden means to much to that team.

Roloson has one year left on his contract. If we can fit him under the cap we'll just let him go in the offseason, but there lies the problem. Fitting him under the cap.

Madden isn't getting moved. Moreover, even though he's a UFA, the chance of him not re-signing is, in my opinion, miniscule.

At this point, how the heck can we move Madden, when we have about 9 healthy forwards 5 healthy defensemen. Goalie may be our deepest position.
