1st point - see post 90

2nd point.... Lats wasn't the problem tonight... our lack of coverage infront of our net; lack of crease clearing, and not protecting price was.

3rd as i said before a Lats - Lang line is too slow.

if we could stay out of the penalty box for half of the game then maybe wed have a chance to get a rythym going. i bet carbs and muller arent too pleased about the disgusting undisciplined hockey we are playing right now.

Pretty embarrassing. The defense really needs a major kick in the ass, as no one outside Markov or Hamrlik can carry the puck past center ice.

I can't say I'm surprised, nor can I say anything I haven't said over the past few games. They need #4 defeseman, and they need to change the powerplay to the way it was last season. Markov have Souray and Streit on the right point, and when that option failed, he had Kovalev on the right side, as well. He's now on the right point, and doesn't have the cross-ice pass to the left side since the left wing is usually in front of the net, so he's left to shoot the puck. You can see him moving to the left point as well during the powerplay, so why don't they just station him there, and let him do the setting up?

Meh, it was pointless to move him to the right side. Really don't agree with that move at all. Outside that, I'm kinda glad they lost, since it lets them know that playing bad despite being a good team doesn't guarantee a win.

It's only the beginning of the season so they still have time to adjust and this loss doesn't piss me off that much because it's deserved. In some way, I'm glad they lost. We get to see what are our weaknesses (basically, defense) and we now have a good reason to play hard against the Leafs for our next 4 games against them. Should be fun!

I don't what game Brisebois haters saw tonight, but the entire defense sucked...Brisebois and Georges sucked the least. Markov was a direct cause of at least 2 goals. O'Byrne definitely has take a step back compared to how he played last year.

Latendresse and Higgins shouldn't be anywhere near the ice let alone to the top 2 lines with they way they're playing.

Kubina would look good in a Habs uniform.

Our D was horrible. Even the first pairing seemed lost.

Was I the only one with a jumping heart every time the Leafs came into Habs zone, they just seemed to penetrate effortlessly.

Nobody says anything.
Markov being outskated by the "slow" antropov while he was backcheking.

Kovy was a turnover machine tonight. By far the worst top 6 forward.
breezy was a major problem

man we got our ass kicked badly
habs needed that, hope they wake up for the rest of the season

things that should be changed : fowards are too far ahead of the defense, they need to come and help the D / coach needs to better motivate the guys, each game we have a bunch of zombies playing / bring a coach for the D asap

Goalies pushing players that screen them is ok, poking a stick into a guy's stomach is not.

Wait, the play was outside the Habs zone at some point?

The goalies were clearly rusty in these 2 games..

All these penaltys were useless, Tanguay penalty on the 5th goal was a joke.

On Antropov's goal we had a delayed penalty. Markov was on the puck in the crease. Komisarek hits the puck in an attempt to clear it before Antropov can get his stick on it and put it in the net. Now, I did'nt agree with the penalty call to start off..... but where is the whistle on that??? Clearly we had control of that puck on 2 instances before the goal resulted... thoughts anyone??

That was the worst defensive effort I can remember the Habs playing in recent memory. Careless play, a boatload of bad penalties and T.O made us pay for it.

Hitting the puck isn't the same as having control of it. You have to actually take possession of it for the refs to blow the whistle. It was a good (non) call.

You might as well give up explaining it. Some folks are probably wondering why you put an I in waivers

But a Lats-Grabs wouldn't be....

Okay I'm done with Grabs, good for him....time to move on....until we meet again....

As far as Lats though, when he's not doing anything he's a borderline liability and he's not the guy who'll change the pace of the game.

The problem with Lats is he does nothing really well. He doesn't go to the net, doesn't use his size, does have a great shot, doesn't have great hockey sense, isn't great defensively, doesn't have speed. What he has is youth on his side, hopefully he'll start realizing if he doesn't start working real hard on getting better in all areas he'll be hard pressed to keep his place on the Canadiens in any form in the short term (2-3 yrs) future. I like Lats and I think he has potential, but I'm really not liking what I've been seeing from him.

uh yea...because it was a penalty.

your argument is flawed my man. 99% of players in the league are going to look at the ref after taking such a blatant interference/roughing hit.

im sure you will have some kind of ridiculous response to this so ill leave now before it escalates.

later, gg habs. cya in jan.
