Tonights Officiating

Simply DISGRACEFUL!!!! How the **** do they not call the penalty when Semin comes crashing into Lunqvist? If they would have made that call, their 2nd goal wouldnt have ended up being scored.

I know that we came out weak tonight, but I really have to blame some of the loss on the officiating tonight. They missed sooooo many obvious calls like the cross check to betts' face and I'm pretty sure that when Ovechkin hit Staal in the beginning that he left his feet. Aren't those things supposed to be called???

I was more disgusted with our non-existent breakout and lack of a coherent entry into the offensive zone tonight than the officiating. We did not deserve to win this game tonight.

Officiating wasn't great, but every team in the league deals with that at some point.

Fact of the matter is that this team can't score and continues to press offensivly.

I can think of several things that concern me more than the officiating.

Make the nets wide enough so that we can hit them, we would be undefeated.

I agree with Edge here, this team is really not dangerous offensively. We are relying on Zherdev and 2nd year center Dubinsky to lead us in scoring. And for a team who plays a strong defensive game and has a "great defense" like everyone thought we sure do give up a lot of breakaways and odd man rushes. Thank god for Hank!

I realized if we lose Lundqvist, were screwed. We're kinda like the Devils, Valiquette can save us in some games but not all games

agree with this. every time we tried to get through the neutral zone into their zone we'd cough up the puck.

im angry about the officiating, but the teams lack of answer for our goalie being run over twice angers me far more. if i were the coach, id make sure their goalie leaves the ice on a stretcher after they ran Henrik twice.

This team is a lottery team w/o henrik. you protect your goalie and you send a big time message, you come near henrik, you will be answered in kind 100 fold.

As for seeing another teams goalie leave on a stretcher, I think that's going too far but I agree with you're base argument here. If teams are putting pressure on and getting in Lundqvist's face, we need to respond HARD. Lundqvist is that team, it was proven so tonight, we lose him, and we're ****ed.

The blame the refs game is so damn old and childish.

Grow up. Everybody gets screwed one way or another.

How about blaming Callahan for failing to backcheck...or our 7-million dollar captain choking with the game on his stick.

The officiating was bad but if it wasnt for our inept offense then we could have got something, we had enough chances.

my main concern is if we keep being incapable of finishing our chances and the amount high quality chances we give up continues Lundqvist is going to be burned out and if thats happens then we are big trouble

stop making excuses....

we lost, thats it... stop whining like little babies

we never get calls from refs so why is tonight any different... are you guys really surprised that Semin wasn't called for goalie interference meanwhile whenever a Ranger breathes on a goalie, we get a penalty?

The officiating was on sided, agreed. It could have cost us the game. But, we were lucky to even be in it during the first period. If Lundqvist didn't come up with some of the saves he made we would have been behind without any fluke goal or beneficial officiating. They out played us BIG time to start the game. Secondly, it all balances out. There have been games where we got the better of the officiating and the others fans were like "I can't believe they didn't call Drury on that one" or something to that extent. Just part of the game.

I still remember when Drury was high sticked in the face last year during the playoffs and blood was pouring all over the ice and the refs missed it. And that whole time I was thinking... "what if"

The officiating sucked..there's no other way to put it. But the refs didn't cost us the game. If this team doesn't learn how to finish, or maybe bring in someone who can, they are going to find themselves slipping down the standings very quickly.

If we could hit the net and bury a few here and there officiating wouldn't matter.

There are officiating ups and downs all year, it evens out.

The officiating surely didn't help us. I've seen our guys get penalized for far less goalie interference than the "no calls" tonight...and the Caps 2nd goal probably never happens if they make the right call moments before. But credit the Caps for coming out strong and taking it to us. I'm sure our guys are all looking forward to a rematch.

Officiating sucked, but I'm with Edge on this one, Rangers lost the game a lot more than the Refs lost it for them.

The same way they didn't call Voros for falling on top of Smith early in Thursday's game?

The Rangers got outplayed. They have nobody to blame for the loss but themselves.

Not to fan the flames of conspiracy (although some here will) but there is one game suspiciously missing from NHL.com's highlights section.
I rely on that site for a recap (of the moving pictures kind) of games, yet there's nothing of yesterday's game.

That is funny, I noticed that too when looking for the post game interviews. Every game but the Rangers game Maybe they are just slow with getting the highlights up there?
