lol, good ole Tim "Concussion" Connolly.

Maybe a three way trade involving the Canucks could send Connolly and Pyatt back to the Isles?

Isn't Connolly a UFA at the end of the year? Y would the Isles swap expiring centers, especially connolly who is hurt 50% of the time, AND throw in a 2nd? Makes no sense at all

Maybe Comrie to the Blue Jackets. Columbus is still lacking a #1 center, and have pretty much given up to only getting another #2. So Comrie would fit that mold.

Try 80%

Comrie is a free agent at the end of the year too. 2nd componsates for the extra salary. Isles get a better player and the sabres gat a player who plays more than one consecutive game.

Comrie would fit in quite well with the Sabres, so I could see BUF liking this trade.

I don't really know how you reached the conclusion that TC is a better than Comrie. Its about 100% likely that Comrie will put up more points this year. He'll certainly score more goals. Let's not forget that Comrie has had multiple 30 goals years and TC has never even flirted with 20. And, because of those reasons, Comrie likely have more value as a deadline trade acquistion. That isn't to say that Comrie does all things as well as TC - just that TC is not clearly the better player as you imply. TC is a better defensively, and more natural playmaker, but he has never stayed intact long enough to demonstrate that he has the capacity to rack up points over an extended period.

The Isles don't need to drop salary, so there is little reason for them to sacrifice a pick. If anything, they'd look to take on a little cap hit and get paid for it with picks.

At least as far as the Sabres are concerned, I don't see a deal there that makes any sense at all.

In any case, I dont' really see any need for the Isles to move Mike Comrie now. He can't have much value at this point in time. However, at the deadline, he'll probably bring back a 2nd or 3rd rounder, which will help in the rebuiliding process.

It just doesn't make sense for the Isles. They are rebuilding. They will let these guys go @ the end of the year and under your scenario will have one less 2nd round pick because of it. Not a good move for us.

True enough.

Isles are more likely to deal Comrie for a mid to low pick/decent prospect to a contender. If CHI is in the playoff hunt, I could see them in the mix. They desperately need a 2nd line C.

He is in his fourth season with the Coyotes and has only missed significant time in one of them.

The return for Comrie would have to be a young player or a draft pick. He won't be moved for spare parts.

His HF cred is low but watch what happens at the TD. Value goes up, not every player is available and on the right team (like OTT previously) he can be an effective player. I think he will command a better return than most are saying, even if it isn't an even trade.

Also: I loled at seeing Roloson's name again. Get the picture already.

He was great when Ottawa picked him up a few years ago, If Murray could get him for cheap I would be all for it

Actually, yes, that is a pretty good trade. I would take that today.
