yea....he would definately help with the shootouts at least.....i really like players with skill....i would rather see the rangers take a flyer on a skilled guy and it not work out then have a safe guy because they have tons of "safe" players in the system

As far as i know anything is legal as long as you dont hit the goalie aaron voros style or go past the goal line

IMO unless your about to wack the goalie in the head with the damn thing it should be legal in the shootout.(clearly during normal play it shouldnt as you can whack someone right in the head just going for the puck but in a SO its 1on1)

Remember the Doug Weight trade? Oilers were in town and that huge deal (for both teams) went down before they played the game.

The 3rd goal would never go in on a NHL goalie.

Rob Schremp's value has never been lower than it is at this point in time. At best he can probably fetch a 2nd round pick or another project prospect. His value might even be that of Alex Bourret (3rd round pick). But from an Edmonton perspective I don't see management giving up on Schremp until he plays at least 10 games in the NHL. Given the time and money invested in him we might as well keep him to see what we have.

He didn't crack the line-up this year because of the depth of the Oilers' forwards. Going into the year we had this for the depth chart:

Cole-Horcoff-Hemsky
Nilsson-Cogliano-Gagner
Moreau-Pisani-Penner
Pouliot-Brodziak-Stortini

Schremp's size and skills are already replicated in the line-up in Nilsson and Gagner and to some extent Cogliano (minus the speed). Schremp is only good if placed in the top-6 otherwise he is ineffective as he does not hit and is not great defensively (although that has improved dramatically since draft day). On top of that, the team felt the need for an enforcer and picked up Steve McIntyre and sent both Schremp and Brule down to the AHL.

His goal scoring is a bit over-rated from his youtube videos from his London days. He considers himself a playmaker. Last year he scored 23-53-76 in 78 games in the AHL. This year he has 0-10-10 in 9 AHL games. But he does have a good shot but I think he has lost confidence in using it. He can also play the point on the PP but hasn't been doing much of that lately. The shootout moves he does are mostly legal. He has been quoted saying he would only do those in the NHL if his coach allowed it.
