If I were Atlanta I would want Giroux or Parent in additon to Lupul.

I don't know if they are willing to spend money though.

doubt thats enough to get kari. but then again, goalie value is enigmatic at best.

What is Lupul's contract status?

As long as he is tied up for 2-3 years, or is heading into RFA status.....it should be enough.

Thrashers have a real need at RW.

Done from a Flyers pov, IMO. Let me speak for most of the Thrashers fans here though....No.

yeah, his cap hit is just north of four mil starting next year. he'll put up points playing first line minutes, which is what i'd assume he'd be doing in atlanta.

as mentioned above, goalie value is completely unpredictable at this point. although, i think the flyers would have to move one of biron or nitty to atlanta or as a second trade. cap dictates this...

Lupul is signed, and I think this deal is perfet for both teams.

Lupul is a streaky player but will put up 30g with decent all around play if he gets enough minutes. This may enable a move to put Little back at center.

I'm sure the Flyers could add more - another mid-tier prospect or player like Jones if necessary. Doubt they'd be willing to add a top prospect like Giroux.

we'd need to decide who we keep as backup. biron would be a pretty pricey backup. phantoms?

One thing to consider here:

Nitti OWNS Lehtonen. What is it, 12 straight wins for the Flyers over the Thrashers....something utterly absurd like that.

I just wonder if Philly would even want to take a shot on a goalie they have dominated over the past couple of years. If anything, the Flyers have seen more poor efforts out of Lehtonen than most teams that would be interested in him,

I can't see the Flyers doing anything to potentially upset Biron during the season. I could see Pavelic now, but not a current number 1 like Kari. Kari is something they'd look at in the offseason if Biron became difficult to resign.

Biron would probably have to be going the other way. He's too expensive for us to keep.

So Lehtonen's arch rival would be burning a hole in the back of his head.
