BTW, Habs have the fewest games played and are still 4th in the league.
And 3rd in G/game, t-6 GA/game.
And still undefeated if leading after 1 or more periods.
Oh, and anyone see who is 7th in the league in faceoff pct.?

I just realize that the 3 stars tonight are Higgins, Price and Gorges. 3 guys that i met walking on saint-catherine not long ago. They all played one hell of a game.
Well, this is a 60 minute effort, a solid game, and what it did was to take a very combative and solid Sens team and beat them 4-0.
They started the game looking for blood and finished it the same way.
Price getting a shutout is just icing on the cake. He didn't have his best game in Toronto, and now with lots more help from the team, he gets a shutout.
If they can get in the habit of playing like that we are Stanley Cup contenders. I sincerely hope they do and stop bringing retardedly weak offerings like against NYI, CBS and TOR.
I have to disagree with the bolded. We played a crappy 3rd period. We sat back and let them take it to us.
Funny thing about the shutout, after the game O'Byrne got the puck for Carey, but after the game, Price threw the puck to a young fan wearing a Habs shirt in the stand. I wonder why O'B didn't give the puck to Higgy tho, first NHL hat trick is much more valuable than a shutout.
Hey Beaker !! You know how i hate Dandy personally, but i give him big time props for last night. If he would play with his speed like this all the time i might not knock him so much....i said might...
I just finished watching the game (last 2 periods) after work.. and I'm very impressed with our boys. Good job to just about everyone.. Higgins has a helluva a shot.. Koivu and Tanguay are awesome.. Lapierre is gelling the fourth line so well.. Plekanec looked good.. The defense was great.. Gorges had an awesome game.. Price was incredible..
However, there is one Hab I'm not happy with at all; Alex Kovalev. The guy turns the puck over as many times in 1 period as Brisebois, O'Byrne, and Traverse, combined, in an entire season. He really needs to put some effort back into his game.
On a side note, Auld looks very, very impressive for the Senators. He had very little chance on ALL of the goals.
I was at the game, amazing performance by everybody.
Don't know if any other HF members witnessed the scene, but some Sens fans got kicked out of Bell centre, and in a pretty brutal manner. I don't know if they deserved it (the guy next to me said they were spilling beer intentionally on people in front of them). The sens guys from the group were pretty calm when security arrived, but at one point a sens female fan started punching a huge security guard like hell. Then security went crazy, it was an ugly scene. Habs fan were a bit retarded and were throwing all kinds of stuff (beer, popcorn) at them before that event.
On the ice though, what a game to be at Bell Center! Glad to see Higgins got his wrister back; I was losing faith on the kid...And what about that Tender one-timer? Can you do that more often?
Also, kudos to the molson dry girls in the stands...OMG
I saw that, too. We couldn't figure out how it started but those people were clearly d-bags. Who punches a security guard?
Where were you sitting?

They always blame ****** goaltending in Ottawa but it's not like their defense did a stellar job last night, either.

Higgins likely already got the puck that he scored the third goal with/
Yeah, I remember back to the days of Lalime.. when he was posting GAA's of like.. 1.25 in the playoffs and it was always his fault they got beat.
What happens to goal scorers? Auld could of let in 1 tonight and still lost..
That's the story of the Senators, and I wonder how many Sens fans have learned that yet. They ran out Emery. They are running out Gerber. They'll keep running goaltenders out if they don't improve their defensive corps.

Anyone got connections so we can introduce this guy to the rest of the team?

It wasn't just a shutout, it was a brilliant shutout (unlike a few creampuffs Brodeur has had throughout his career, along with his brilliant ones, depending on how ell the Devils defended) because the Sens had chances.
I don't think they really look at the +/- stat when it comes to rookies.
Plus, hasn't Grabovski played too many games/seasons to be considered a rookie?
I did a quick search on the rules, and it seems you're right. Grabovski played 27 NHL games prior to this season, and the rulebook states that in order to qualify for the Calder, you can't have played in 25 or more games. I don't know why on the TSN player rankings, they have him classified as a rookie, because he's clearly not.
