LOL, "stoned-hands" Higgins scores a hat-trick and two of those goals were toptitty on high speed.

4 goals and 3 assists in 7 games.

When he scored his third goal I literaly jumped in the air and said "OMG Chris Higgins is Baaaaaaaaacccckk!". The one from two years ago that was miracle on ice that was supposed to become our next Captain.

What was great was that it was a real hat trick too! It wasn't goals scored via deviations. It wasn't "somebody scores two goals and scores his third in an empty net". No it was a genuine hat trick, heck two of them Higgins scored by himself really. What a Great Moment.

True that he received 3 awesome passes though.....SKost's was risky but totally worth it while Tanguay's was just a sign of guy with an incredible hockey sense and a heck of a passer....

Three great passes but the Higgins of last year would have missed the net on the Sergei pass and the other two were breakaways so he did it himself, alone with the goalie and he shoot, he scores!

So now its not "stoned hands" Higgins anymore... its "he only scores because he gets great passes!" Higgins.

Why was Auld so deep in his net on the first goal - seems that if he takes one step out Higgins loses that top corner angle.

Yeah but to be honest, if he scored 27 he probably missed 81 chances. Obviously you don't expect a player to bury all of his scoring chances, but more than 1/4...

He's my favorite player but last season he could've scored way more.

Doesn't that mean that he's really good at being positioned at the right place at the right team and he's very hockey smart?

Hell.. if he converted 1/3rd instead of 1/4... he'd be Dany Heatley... And no one is asking that much!

Well, that's the thing about Higgins. When Gagné started his career, and even just 4 years ago, before he got Forsberg or Brière as a centerman, nobody would've bet that he could become a 50 goal scorer. And Higgins has some of the same qualities, so going 40 goals is not impossible for him. I see him hitting that at least once in his career. Players grow, they hit their full potential, and Higgins is not even there yet. This player is absolutely a keeper.

yes they do. It hapens all the time when they are with a supreme playmaker. Like I said though, if this is a sign that he can finish consistently then we are better off because of it.

100% agreed with the comparaison.

Higgins is a lot like Gagné.

A natural 25 goal scorer with good work ethic and strong defensive awareness that can hit 30, 40 or 50 goals depending on the strenght and type of center he plays with.

Dude, I got flammed 2 years ago when I made that comparison on the RDS forums.

I hope Higgins stays here for his entire career.

A simple Posting the smiley when Higgins has a good game isn't criticizing her as a person..... Its criticizing her opinion of Chris Higgins.....

Note in the original post when i used many of her infamous quotes....

If you are gonna go on a crusade against a player, tell everyone that they are useless, totally rip on them in every single thread mentionning their name etc... well then you deserve to get called on that crusade when they have a great game.

Everyone on this board regularly can just imagine what Erika would have posted if Higgins missed those two breakaways and hit the post on Sergei's pass....

I like Higgins a LOT, but isn't that a bit overrating him?

How is that overrating him

Higgins alone: 20 goals

Higgins with Pleks: 25 goals

Higgins with Saku: 30 goals

Higgins with Savard: 35 goals

Higgins with Crosby: 40 goals

Higgins with Thornton: 45 goals

RDS Forums?..what were you doing there??..HF is a lost cause sometimes, but RDS Forums..The moronic quality there is just astounding. Worst.Forums.EVER.

Anyways, there's a reason why Higgins is part of every trade rumor. There's also a reason why none of these rumors ever come true.

Like you said, well I don't know about his whole career, that's a long time. But yea, he'll be here as long as we still have the same administration in place.

So Thornton is a better playmaker than Crosby?

You'll get flamed if you say it next week & he doesn't score.

Not necessarily, but Thornton passes more and shoots less, so people around him get more goals and less assists.
