For a team like that, i'd say it's pretty cap friendly.

If JBo takes 5 million I will eat crow. Try 7+

Since I'm a Canucks fan, I would change the title to "How would you rip off the Panthers to improve your team?".

Then the Canucks could trade Pyatt, Krog, Ouellet, Davison for Horton, Bouwmeester.

Upshall - Carter - FA
Asham - Metro - Cote
Gratton - Ross - Kane - Raduns

Timmonen - Jbo
Coburn - Sbisa
Carle - Parent
Vaananen - Kukkonen

Halak
Nitty
Aubin

I think that looks like a darn good team on paper and somewhat cap friendly IF the cap increases.
JVR on the #1 line as a rookie?

i'd say that's reasonable given i don't know what Salo's cap hit is or how well he's been playing this year.

someone fill me in.

i could be wrong but i think he has something around 2.5. i could definitely see canucks fans not being happy with a deal involving jones, since he's essentially krajicek (who they just recently shipped out).

We need that scoring winger in Edmonton so I would go after Kovi in Atlanta.
To Atlanta
Visnovsky
Cogliano
Nilsson
Schremp

To Edmonton
Kovi

This gives Atlanta one of the top puck moving dmen in the league along with 3 prospects that all can help the team now. Edmonton gets Kovi to go on the first line.
Kovi;Horc; Hemmer
Penner; Gagner; Cole
I would like to see those two lines play

Poulliot; Potulny for Stafford (if not what else would you want)
Pisani traded away for draft pick
3rd line
Moreau; Brule; Stafford
Garon to Ottawa for Gerber and 1st
We would still have a 3 goalie night mare but Gerber would be the 3rd goalie and it gives us another 1st rounder for this years draft. It also frees up about 2.5 mil in cap space for the Senators.

The "If your team was in NHL 2008 and you could make any trade you wanted with the dumb AI" thread. It's better they are clumped together in one thread instead of spread out over the whole forum though.

V City has a huge hole down the middle in regards to a #2 center. If we can steal a #1, that would be sexy, but we'd more than likely have to overpay. I'm thinking...

To FLA:
Mike Keenan

To CAL:
Jacques Martin

AND THEN!!! (!!!)

To FLA:
Taylor Pylon
Mike Brown

To VAN:
Nathan Whoreton

I think it's realistic, what about you?

The Sens would lose Fisher, Folingo, Elliot and Vermette?

That is horrifying. Atlanta's team should be taken away if they make that trade.
