To Ottawa:Adrian Aucion

To Calgary:4th Round Pick

Ottawa gets a better puck moving defence and Calgary free's up cap space to sign someone better or to help re-sign Cammy and Bert.
Fair Trade?

No, Aucoin has negative value. Can Ottawa even do this deal with the cap? No one wants Aucoin, it's best to just let his contract finish and then send him on his way as Pardy/Pelech will be ready.

EDIT: Yes, Ottawa can fit it under the cap, just barely though.

Aucoin's right hand shot sure would be useful to Ottawa. The price is probably right.

No thanks, i'd rather keep Aucoin and let him go in the offseason, our defence will be even worse without him.

Phaneuf-Vandermeer
Regehr-Sarich
Pardy-Giordano

yikes

You're right, I don't think Aucoin has played all that well but if the Flames defense starts getting hurt that'll mean Pardy and Pelech will be a getting a lot of ice time. Let Aucoin finish his contract, Pardy, Pelech, and possibly Negrin will all be ready next season .

If we trade him it would not make are defence worse because look at the amount of turnovers he had and the ones that have resulted in goals. He tries o pinch when he should'nt and always gets cought. More the reason to trade him

Pardy and Pelech are rookies, they'll make 5x more defensive errors.

Glad to see some voices of reason before I even got here.

1. Calgary needs him, for he's better than our rookies, and still has a heck of a shot for our PP

2. NTC. He has one

3.He's UFA, so why not keep him for now and then just let him walk. I'd rather have his services for the rest of the season than a 4th rounder to be honest.

4. I think Ottawa would rather take a chance with Lee or one of their other young guys (I can't recall his name right now, and I can't find it. I should know this lol. Brendan Bell? Is that right?)

5. If I was the Sens, (which I am also a big fan of), I would say no to this deal. There are better players to be had with that cap space we have remaining than Aucoin.

Our D is playing well, except for Phillips (who will eventually get better) and Smith. His cap hit is too high and Lee is better than him.

As mentioned by numerous people above me, he's not great, but we don't have anyone to take his roster spot or his minutes. If we deal him our defense actually gets worse, and not enough to justify a 4th round pick.

Trust me, we'd rather have Aucoin over Zyuzin any day of the week.

QFT. Aucoin is worth more now than what he was in Chicago. He just needed a change of scenery.

How would that free up money? Aucoin will be off the books after this season anyways. Only way it fres up money is that if traded we can have cap space for THIS year.

Only way I would want to do this would be if we were out of the playoff race. Then I'd rather the 4th than letting him walk. But as it stands now I'd also say no.
