Well I don't expect them to play together any time soon since neither Kostitsyn will be able to play for Team Belarus when the WC's get started.

Let's hope so.

Anyway - you guys should realize that in Europe, playing for your national team comes way before playing for your club team (in people's mind). At least in soccer, and I guess people expect the same from hockey.

A club team in soccer has to make a very solid case to prevent a player (paid millions of dollars) from participating to an official national team game.

AFAIK, the K brothers and Grabovski are the main stars of the national team and a potential conflict between them gets very important threre.

thanks for the compliment, but I'm not nearly as informative as Whitesnake.

I do tend to get myself confused with Habsofsteel though...

...seriously.

I could dump your body in the composter & no one would suspect a thing...

As far as Grabovski's arrogance...I've said it before, good for him. He knows he has the skills, & now he's backing it up on the ice. Nothing wrong with being confident.

Just to add more fuel to the Grabovski fire, there's a Russian Leaf fan on the Toronto board saying that he heard the interview after the game & Ponikarovski 'sugarcoated' what Grabovski was telling the reporters about the Habs...

Grabovski comes off as someone who's condescending. Sergei comes off as someone bitter and annoyed.

Grab clearly said that there is only one pofessional on the Habs squad, that being Saku. It's important to point out that the word professional in Russian also deals with more of being a good person.

Also, Blades 0f Steel is awesome.

To be fair and not to take anything away from translator's ability, but there could be nuance where there is none intended and vice versa. Previous interviews in Russian with other Russian players usually shows they are blunt and straight to the point. That type of tone and attitude once translated can easily come off as arrogance or bitterness.

K, i'm having a complete mental blackout...which team did Wilson take to the finals and when? I know he's been knocking on the door with SJ for awhile.

"After the Ducks released him following the 1996-97 NHL season, Wilson was hired to coach the Washington Capitals. In his first year in Washington, he led the team to the Stanley Cup Finals, where the Capitals were defeated by the Detroit Red Wings in four games."

S.Kostitsyn seems to accept the fact that he's young and that there are veterans in front of himon the depth chart...probably Grabovski didn't like that.

Good job Sergei

This is a beauty of Toronto - they don't have team divided in groups by some features
Ummm I wonder if it's true. Habs of the last three years always said they had such a great lockerroom(except when Ribs was there)...?

did anyone see the Grabs quote from the Leafs board regarding the butt end on Price?

something along the lines of "I was just checking to see if he was still fat. He's leaner now. Good for him."

What a *****

I thought one of the Leafs fans owned up to making that whole 'quote' up for a laugh?
