Actually..both days I went to camp this year, the defenceman were practicing breakaways. So..take it for what it's worth.

You know you could practice 6 on 5 for hours in practice, but it pales in comparison to the 30 seconds where you're really doing it and have to work through the pressure...

No youre right. Its always good to get that in game practice, but im not sure at that point, the other team would really give you the resistance you expect.

Every single player on this team ****s up. One way or another. Gagne a few games ago against Sens and Tampa, Richards tonight, Timonen and Coburn against Edm.
I am not talking about the rest of the team.

What can be done?

I do not even know.

I wanted him gone last year, I thought going into the playoffs that we could have won the cup if we had a good coach. I thought we had a great team (with Kukks in instead of Modry). Of course we lost our top 2 D so you definitely can't say we lost because of coaching. I even started to think that maybe he's a good coach for this team because the players may like playing for him as he doesn't get too tough on them. I was just picking on him about selecting Hartnell. However, I like this team, even the D looks solid once Jones and Parent are back, so I'd much rather see him fired than the team broken up.

Theyre humans, not robots. Hockey players (even the best) screw up sometimes. Get over it.

Rod Brind'Amour had two on the same penalty in the '97 playoffs.

A goal by Jeff Carter trimmed the deficit to 3-1, and Gagne added his two shorthanded goals to tie the score. It was the third time in club history that the Flyers had two shorthanded goals by the same player in one period - Bill Barber (1978) and Brian Propp (1985) also did it.

Night off? No! But he knows it was a mistake. You just do not do that with Malkin and Crosby on the ice.

this is one goal game. 2min left.

When did he say Richards took the night off? He said he ****ed up...and he's absolutely right. He did. And he's also correct that everyone has ****ed up from time to time. So far this year, some of our best players have committed major errors at inopportune times. **** happens. And unfortunately, we've seen a lot of **** early in this season.

I can tell that you are upset. I was too, Everything you said is correct.

Does not mean I do not like Gagne, Richards, Coburn, Timonen(they are our best players!) but makes me wonder who is next.

We had that game. We had it on our stick. We stopped attacking. Pittsburgh is 4;1 coming from behind in 3rd. How can you do something like that? and I do not blame Mike alone. He will learn from his mistake like no other player on our team.

It was great game. Last time some one scored 2 SH goals was the Iron Man Rod. In playoffs against Pittsburgh (well, from what I remember) You are not suppose to lose after scoring 2 SH goal. No team does it. I can not remember a single game like that in general not just Flyers. We scored two SH goals and we scored 1 PP goal and we lost. This is not positive.

How can you **** it up like that and then score 0 goal in SO?

I am tired of this running around, not knowing what to do in simple situation.

Can Berube and Stevens turn it around? Can GM help? What do we need?

the puck deflected twice on that play. i get that he'll still beat himself up for it, but i don't get how anyone other than himself can hold him accountable for that.

with the way all the bounces were going tonight, the flyers weren't meant to win.

Say what you want.. However you want. make it luck.. Karma... I do not give a ****.

Crosby and Malkin on the ice. What do you do? Where is support? Where is coverage?

How often do you score 2 SH and PP goal and EV goal in one game and lose it?

Not to mention.. Its either Biron looked like SO goalie or Pens players ****ed up.

Positives? This **** is frustrating....

Damn right it deflected...because he made a poor pass. And even if that pass had gotten through cleanly....the decision to even try and make that pass was a poor one. He should've put that puck around the boards...either behind him or in front of him. What he tried to do was just too unsafe in the first place.

And it was, to me, totally representative of what is probably the most negative aspect of Richards play on a regular basis. I love the guy, and there's very little that he does out there that I see as negative...but he definitely has a penchant for trying to force passes that aren't really there. Sometimes it works and he looks awesome, but often times it doesn't and he looks like a bonehead. He's got a little bit of Brett Favre in him in that way.
