This game was terrible. Starting to become frustrated with this team.
Pleks where have you gone, Kovy you look like **** out there with your turnovers and dangles that never work. The list goes on and on.

Our of our biggest problem is simple. The PP is mediocre. Souray was a key player on the PP two years ago. Streit was the guy who replaced him last year. This year, anyone with some hockey knowledge knew the PP would suffer if nobody was going to replace Streit. And it happened. Weren't we #1 in this category for the 2 last seasons ?

Bof, piss poor execution more than anything really. Effort is getting you no where if you don't play smart. Kinda like how last seaosn Laps would skate nonstop without doing anything with the puck. In this case, we're truning it over.

- Kovalev's really gotta stop playing hero. The guy tries too much, stopped using his linemates and subsequently brings a lack of trust between the three. Man, I remember the cycling last year from this line. Now they just try to score on the fly, and if it doesnt work, "oh well..."

- These are one of those games that you just lose. I've never seen a pretty loss, the November slump just makes this one that much worst.

- Hammer was working both LD and RD. This guy's is a defensive stabilizer and O'byrne is just lost and nervous. Brisebois is Brisebois, he's our 7th D filling in for an injury. I don't know why everyone is expecting top pairing play.

-I'm down to change the lines for the next game to shake things up. These guy's need a change, I think everyone's feeling a little tight. Keeps things fresh. Then put them back together. I don't want them to getting more lethargic than they already are. Good way to vent some of the frustrations out.

-Biron won this game again. Halak played solid and I was really happy with his play. I thought he'd get lit up, good to see he's settling down.

Move on to tomorrow's game. Please no drama, it's only 15 games and we still have a solid record. We're still over a month away from the Christmas break so that should shed some light on how much hockey is left. I'm expecting 3 wins in the next 4 .

The reason why we lost isn't very complicated, our opponents scored 2 goals, we had 4pps which resulted in no goals.

Since Carbo took over, the PP has been the main reason why we've been winning games. Souray had a career season in 06-07, and he was replaced by Striet in 07-08, who also had a career season. We let both go via free agency and didn't fill that void next to Markov this time around.

We ethier have to change the entire dynamic of our team by trading talent for grit, thus having to rely less on the PP, or get someone to play with Markov.

I'm still horse after yelling into my computer to PULL THE GOALIE!!!!

I'll also point out that while Toronto did not win....they did get a goal on that 6 on 4 with the amount of guys on the ice they had...
Totally different situation. The Leafs were down by more than one goal. If Carbo pulls the goalie with 3 minutes left on that PP, Philly can take shots at our net without having to worry about icing. If Philly scores, the entire Habs fan base calls for Carbo's head for not going by the book.

You're wrong on this one.

He could've at least taken a time out and discussed strategy and rallied the troops.

Fine. But is he really better than one of our top 6 forwards :

Koivu
Kovalev
Tanguay
Kostitsyn
Higgins
Plekanec

No. So, if he plays, it will be on the 3rd or 4th line with limited icetime, with players like Dandenault, Laraque, Lapierre... Will he really have an impact ? Is he supposed to be the key when our best players can't even lead the team to victoires ?

I'm all for promoting one or two guys. Guaranteed any bulldog would skate his ass off on both sides of the puck just to try and stay in the show. maybe it rubs off.

He'll get top 6 ice time with the way Pleks and Kostitsyn (Sergei, but truly Andrei) have been going. And if he plays, Dandy will take the bench anyway. Kostopolous will be back for Tuesday anyway so that would also mean either Laraque or Lappy will sit. That's if D'Agostini gets called up.

When the Habs give up the first goal, they look defeated. I don't know the stats so far this year, but I think they play waaaay better when they score first.

The top three lines were changed. Did you not watch the 3rd period?

Maybe you should "open your eyes".

I am sure by december, one of the Bdogs will come up to join the team. Mark my word.

What is Gainey thinking after this game?

The thing is 11 goals in 15 games... What do you want more? This guy is definately NHL ready. If you've got to, make room for him, or use him to get something valuable. but this kid has to serve the team one way or another... We have too big of a hole on defense to do nothing.

I will assemble these lines:

Higgins - Koivu - Tanguay
D'Agostini - Lang - Kovy
AK74 - Plek - SK46
Lats - Chips - Lapierre
Laraque (for Fights)

Markov - Komi
Hamrlik - Top 4 D-Man
Bouillon - Georges
Weber (for PP)

Price
Halak

The rest are traded.

The only thing that bothers me is that Carbo said: "If we wanted to trade Begin and Dandenault, we would've done so already" which means he plan to keep them
