What the hell?

Seriously.

What the hell?

Nevermind the fact that this is a ripoff and also Sydor's what, 3rd tour of duty in Dallas.....we can't even call this a salary dump since they're making the same amount!

Whatever.

sydor will be great in the locker room. Not that Boucher isnt, but Ive heard he is pretty close with several of the stars players. Also Boucher has been horrid this season. People have been turning a blind eye to it, but he has simply played like crap.

Well, at least Boucher will go to a legit contender. I don't know what the hell this is here.

Sydor for Boucher. Both past prime. Wash.

Not a wash, Boucher has the ability to possibly make up, Sydor sucks, hard. A lot. Is he going to be sent down? I hope so.

Seems like a waste to me.

Isn't the reason we let go Sydor cuz he sucked? And isn't his salary pretty high?

I'd have been happier if Boucher was dealt for a mid-range pick or two, therefore shedding 2.5 mil of salary that wasn't producing as expected.

And for Daryl Sydor? I thought this guy's last stint in Dallas ended not-so-favourably, which is why he left (again).

Just seems a steep price to pay for some cheerful locker-room pep talks.

Hey guys, Pens fan here. Not to troll or anything, just curious what are PB's strengths?

How is he in his own end/skating/moving the puck. The only thing i really know about him is he has a rifle of a shot.

Thanks!

(and yes, Sydor sucks. I can't see why Dallas would do Syd for Boucher straight up)

PB is a great D man, 2 seasons ago,
he is a shell of his former self, hopefully for the pens and him, he will wake up.

yeah i would have been happier with teh picks as well. I guess maybe hull and jackson think this team needs a good character guy. They seem to have no ability to play as a team and hopefully sydor can at least be a good locker room presence.

His slapper still has power, just no accuracy. Can be physical sometimes, yet deemed injury-prone. Can move the puck, but can turn it over. I don't know what to think of Boucher. Some nights he's invisible, the others he's making a stupid mistake.

Boucher hasnt unleashed that rifle of a shot in over a year. Honestly I think shoulder problems have sent it away for good. Boucher is a bigish, unphsyical dman who in the past was pretty damn good positionally but certainly has not bene this year. He also has looks really timid all season.

Just wanted to say that RDS took out there ''more details to come'', so I guess it's a straight up deal.

Thanks guys. Looks like a pretty lateral move then IMO. Both stink at everything, are old, have the same cap hit, and are UFA's after this year. The Pens probably wanted Boucher to help out on the PP. And Dallas probably wanted Sydor cause...

...

Deal? Don't you mean 'steal?'

Sydor was horrible the last time he was in Dallas, and while Boucher hasn't been good by any stretch of the imagination, he's better than Sydor is. Besides, at least Boucher had some trade value whereas Pittsburgh has been trying to dump Sydor since they signed him.

On the bright side: Sydor had to waive his NTC to come to Dallas, so he WANTS to play for you guys

I'm just pissed Hull/Jackson didn't try to squeeze in a freaking pick. First the Avery signing, now this.

It's crazy though how once he goes to one of the more "popular" teams, he is immediately hyped to have a cannon slapshot. I hope they enjoy that

I'm clinging to the last shred of hope that this trade has not happened, considering TSN has yet to report it, and there's no word of it on the Stars website.

RDS and TSN are owned by the same parent company

This seems.... weird. Cause it doesn't accomplish anything, in terms of upgrading at the position or downgrading the salary.

Then why don't they both report at the same time?

DMN has nothing on it, neither does FWST.

I know it's the middle of the night, but they still have editors at the office.

I guess I'm the only person on earth excited about this trade, always hated Boucher though. Zubie and Sydor back together is cool for me, and he's a vet and good friends with the rest of the team. Great for morale, seeing as how Boucher sucked.
