OT: Story Behind Your Username

Sorry if it's been done before but I was interested in why you picked your name

Mine is from my HS soccer team. In my freshman year I transferred to a new school and the geometry teacher saw my last name (pronounced "reachy") and says, "Richy?... Richy!?.... ahhh Richyrich!" He called me Richyrich for the rest of the year. It just so happened that one of the other soccer players was in that class and the nickname stuck... It got shortened to just Richy (very similar to my last name) but it's still with me 7 years later

Post your stories!

Excellent.

CGB FTW!!!

Irish - I am Irish.
Sniper - In NHL 09 I am a Sniper. Also, in CoD4, Halo and other games, I love to snipe, and I am very good at it.

Something I came up with when I was 10, I believe (I'm 22 now). Just grabbed out of the air, except that 99 is my favorite number, even though I don't know why. However, I suspect it has much more to do with the character Rick Vaugh in Major League, one of my all-time favorite movies, than with Wayne Gretzky.
I'm already dreading the day when people ask me if I was born in 1999.

As for the chaos, I believe in retrospect that it was rather subconscious, since I believe that nothing necessarily needs a specific structure to function. I'm also very happy to have the "of" as conjunction in the name since I don't really like the internet nicknames which have their age or their birthyear as some kind of serial number in there (sorry IrishSniper87, but to make up for it I have a sniper as my avatar ).

Steve Fletcher 29- he played for the Hershey Bears back in 88-89 and 89-90 season. Fan favorite....beat the snot out of just about everyone...a nice guy too. I figured it was better than Tim Tookey 9.

Didnt want to use my Gamer Tag as it has nothing to do with hockey, plus it is my style of play.

I dont really know where mine came from. I pretty much made it up. Some people think I got it from the word "sacred" (sacyred). I have no idea really. I do like it though. =)

I'm JVR's half-step-cousin, Richard.

But really, it's obviously just, James van Riemsdyk + Dick van Dyke = Dick van Riemsdyk.
