... then I'm not coming back on HFboards until the season is over.
Can we possibly have two PGTs tonight? One for people who are already seeing signs of Armageddon and another one for people who are still keeping a long-term view on the season and are aware that teams go through ups-and-downs in the course of an 82 game season?
The reactions of many Habs fans to our recent slide reminds me of how your common investor reacts during times of intense market volatility.

Anyways, go habs go tonight!
+1
The screaming and letter writing is much worse than the actual losing.
when habs lose, I don't try to enter in habs section of hfboards (just surfing between lounge and main NHL board)... I don't listen to CKAC until the next game and I turn off my TV so I don't have to accidently see the morons on RDS!
It's not like they're scoring powerhouses anyway...
No but Neil always gives us a hard time and with the defense we have right now with no komisarek and no Laraque in the lineup,Neil would have scored 2 goals tonight!!!
Neil is a little pest and always gived us problems, you watch tonight,Ruutu is going to have a blast out there

I know a lot of investors who lost a lot of money 'cause they didn't sell at the right moment...
Take it as you want, losing THE WAY we are losing right now is unacceptable. Not the scores, not the record we have, just the way we are losing. And it's even more unacceptable when you start waking up to the world and start watching other games that has other teams than the Habs.....you then appreciate what work really is...We're not taking about losing here, we're talking about work ethic, we're talking about not showing up and we're talking about being not having pride and dignity. It could change real fast but right now that's the way it is. Strangely the same fans who can't handle the way the Habs are criticized, are the same ones who are ecstatic and think they're a cup contender 'cause of 3 wins in a row....
By the way, the same reactions you got on this board, is about the same type of reactions that the coach is having lately.....
And if we lose tonight, we have only 5 points ahead of the Ottawa Senators a team who because of their start of the season is expected to tank, or trade everybody but Alfredsson....If we want to play the game of numbers, I would look at the number of points we have but compare it to the number of points other teams have....Our record by itself means nothing....
Canes missed the playoffs last year with a 43-33-6 record. in 06-07, Avs missed the playoffs with a 44-31-7....

We only played 17 games. We should all take a deep breath. This team won't be missing the playoffs, but won't be winning the East either. Stay in the middle, that's what I say.

Totally fair enough. But if it makes no sense to talk about points we have, it shouldn't make any sense to talk about the record either. At this point, only HOW we play should be what matters and thus far, it's not pretty.
Honestly, we do have the talent to go far. But I've seen the NY Rangers so many years with that much talent and not being able to put it together and not having the greatest work ethic that it scares me a little....
I haven't been too vocal about it but the team IS something to worry about. They haven't played many great games this year, and they don't seem to care at all. The coach is punishing a floater (SKost) by still keeping him in the game, and putting him on the 4th line? We have better 4th liners for that role... I'm not really happy with the coaching or the players.
But hey, they can rebound. I just don't think they will. In my mind, our best game this season was our 1st one because we actually had good intensity. Other than that, I don't count comebacks as good games because it means we had to comeback in the first place.
I still think we will make the playoffs, just not going far.
*edit : Forgot to say, but about the work ethic : Just watch a couple of games from any OTHER team (not vs the Habs) and you will realize how bad our work ethic is. I mean, even the bottom feeders are playing with more intensity at the moment. I'm more excited for random games on TSN or NHLN these days because it's enjoyable to watch teams put effort in. I don't enjoy most of our wins except the odd game out where we put up a good effort (a couple of games this year) because I feel they were undeserved.

The Sens are playing terrible hockey. I'd be shocked if the Habs lost to them tonight. We lost to the ISLANDERS....Twice, and to top it off, we have brutal 3rd jerseys.
