I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I'm not a big fan of Gomez and his style of play.
any talk of us being better without gomez is silly but i know what you are getting at.

now as for the powerplay, i have absolutely no problem not playing gomez on the pp. his game seems to create little. his strength is his speed which is negated in a settled manup situation and to me, hes just another pass first, second and third kinda guy..... we need shooters and gomez just isnt that.

we did well without him against the debbies, maybe rozy needs to sustain a lower body injury too so we can go on a little run.

since we so sorely lack a pp qb, whats the opinion on gomez on the point.?

just saying based on his pass 1st set up a play style.. i mean straka was back there, there are some similarities in they're games..

Straka was also able to shoot from there if need be. We have a bunch of pass first players who don't even do that well. If you're gonna pass all the time, atleast make your passes quick and accurate. We just have a pathetic Power Play all around.

If you look around the league, I believe every good Power Play has a guy who can really rip it from the point, and bodies in the slot. We do not have someone willing to do that for some reason.

where is this guy?

day to day with Gomez? He's had like a full week of rest already. Anyone have an inkling has to when he's coming back? Maybe Renney figures he can allow him some more time to rest because the team won the last 3 games? Or maybe Sather is working something out? lol. yea right! WE WANT CAP SPACE!!!!!

my friend who has season tickets went to the rangers event on monday the 10th, he told me gomez was fine and nothing seemed wrong with him so im guessing he hurt himself in practice. Take it for what its worth.

Was it a skating event? (I don't know what you're talking about). If not, then I don't think walking around in shoes really compares to skating hard

Scott Gomez-C-Rangers Nov. 19 - 6:04 pm et

Scott Gomez is out with a stress fracture of his ankle.
A report has surfaced that states the center played 10 games with the injury before learning of the injury November 7. Gomez then played two more games before sustaining a groin injury that occurred because of a changed skating style forced on him by the ankle injury. It's unclear when he'll return. Keep him benched for now.

There's nothing on the NY Post that says this, all the articles say he's got a bruised foot/ankle and is day to day.

it was a Question/Answer type of thing, he said gomez didnt have any cast or anything on his leg, and walked off perfectly fine.

Gomez confirmed on WEPN/1050 AM this afternoon that he was skating with a stress fracture in his ankle after the Oct. 18 Detroit game. The Post reported that, in turn, caused him to pull a groin muscle, complicating his recovery.
Oh great, now its the groin also.

Well it's not like he's not skating. I believe he his. If I'm not mistaken, according to Sports Desk, he skated today. Not full tilt of course. The last I heard, he will not be playing Saturday in Ottawa and is being treated with acupuncture for a sprained ankle. I bet he's ready to go some time late next week, or into the weekend.
