This situation is a mess. I can't see Liarpold or the Lightning owner getting any part of the Predators, regardless of their partial claims (10 million in combined loans do not equal a 27 percent share in the Predators). Freeman, in the end, will probably acquire this share. At that point, he hopefully can sell it to someone that is financially committed to helping this team.

At least, I hope this is the scenario that pans out ^^.

Anchewsitz through his company AEG owns the Kings, Len Barrie and Oren Knowles lead the ownership group in Tampa.

Regardless, if Leipold or Anchewsitz or both acquire the stake in the Preds, they would need to immediately sell it because they cannot own stakes in more than one NHL team at a time.

Yes, I know this, but they would get the opportunity to sell it, which is not desirable for the Predators.

Now, a new financial player might be about to take a position in the Predators.

Calgary investment banker Brett Wilson confirmed yesterday he met with Predators majority owner David Freeman last week in Nashville, and that they spoke again this week.

"We're still returning each other's phone calls but nothing's finalized," said Wilson, who is keenly interested in buying into the Predators, given his business connections in the southern U.S. city and affinity for hockey fans there. "We'll see what happens in a week."
