Be reclaiming him, they can demote him now.

That's the only reason they did it, he wont play with the main club.

You didn't miss much. He was invisible in the short time he played--Houdini would be impressed.

Hopefully he stays up, would be fun to watch an actual enforcer to back all the big mouth agitators they have there

He'd probably help the Avs offense as well

I think he would stay with the main club. He started off in hte AHL but the Av's recalled him but the Oilers ended up claiming him. If you don't want someone up in the NHL, why bother calling him up? Why not just leave him in the AHL(unless they signed him to a NHL contract which made them put him on waivers first?). Also, I think, since the Oilers were sending him down, if you claim a player, he needs to stay in the NHL. If the Av's wants him back in the AHL, he would have to clear waivers again I would assume.

I am glad that the Oilers are no longer wasting one of their 50 contracts on him

Which is what was happening. The Av's were in the process of signing him to a 2 way contract but before they did that he had to pass through waivers because he had something like a 25 game tryout contract with Lake Erie.

Purinton last year, Boulerice this year. The Monsters apparently have a thing for these types of guys.

don't think so, think him going on waivers the first time this year (from the monsters) allowed him to be sent the minors now

not entirely sure how it works

If no other team puts in a claim for Boulerice than the Avs can send him straight to the minors like they originally planned. Which they did.
