Nashville Fun Fact: The Predators' defensemen have accounted for nearly 30% of the team's goal total. Shea Weber has eight, Ryan Suter and Ville Koistinen each have two, and Dan Hamhuis, Greg De Vries, Kevin Klein and Greg Zanon all have one.

Nashville Player to Watch: Radek Bonk!

No, seriously. Bonk is the only Predator to ever record a hat trick against the Bolts (1/4/2001), and has 34 points (13g-21a) in 43 games lifetime against Tampa Bay, and has three points in his last four games.

Nashville Reason to Worry: The Predators have not beaten the Lightning in Tampa Bay since March 24, 1999.

Nashville Injury Report
Greg De Vries (Broken Nose, Questionable)

Nashville Projected Lineup
Erat-Legwand-Dumont
Fiddler-Arnott-Ward
Smithson-Bonk-Tootoo

Tampa Bay Fun Fact: The Bolts have a knack for taking games into extra frames. Tampa Bay have had eight overtime or shootout contests to this point, and are 2-6 in said contests.

Tampa Bay Player to Watch: Defenseman Steve Eminger has four points in his last two games. (I know, right?)

Tampa Bay Reason to Worry: With the wheels having absolutely fallen off in November, it's hard to find something NOT to worry about for this team.

Tampa Bay Injuries
Gary Roberts (Upper Body, DTD)
Ryan Malone (Leg, Probable)

Tampa Bay Projected Lineup
Stamkos-Lecavalier-St. Louis
Malone-Jokinen-Recchi
Pettinger-Prospal-Vrbata
Artyukhin-Gratton-Hall

Ranger-Meszaros
Eminger-Krajicek
Lundin-Malik

Smith

Media Coverage: The game will be televised on SunSports and broadcast on AM 620 WDAE "The Sports Animal" in Tampa (Dave Mishkin and Phil Esposito with the call on the radio). The game will be covered on FSN-South and broadcast on 104.5 "The Zone" in Nashville (Weber and Crisp on TV, Callahan on radio).

Yes, Arnott has practiced in both full team practices Wednesday and Thursday without incident after the team scheduled off-day Tuesday.

I think we win this one, there is no good reason not to.

Although nothing would have made me happier than beating a Melrose coached team.

it would be strange but good to see both Ville and Klein in the same game.

Watched most of the second and third on the internet without sound (I think it was a Russian telecast?), anyhow...looked like Mike Smith really made some nice saves for Tampa Bay to perserve their early lead and we simply couldn't finish once we started playing catch up.

I have to think that Peverley cost himself tonight in the race to perserve his roster spot and Koistinen really got nothing accomplished in almost 9:00 of PP time.

Need to get some finish, definitely thought we could have used Jones tonight in some of those net scrums for the loose pucks, but won't second guess the move.

Bottom line, the 12 forwards on the roster tonight didn't get it done. Thankfully for them, it appears that they will get another chance to get the job done Sunday at Carolina (I'll be at that game) and if they don't...look for a shakeup of some magnitude before Tuesday's game vs. St. Louis.

Seriously, if Klein cannot get into the lineup in place of Koistinen...then he needs to be used as an asset to acquire a forward that can play on a scoring line - he serves us no purpose sitting in the press box for more than a full-season.

Pihlstrom had two goals off primary assists from Patric Hornqvist to lead Milwaukee to a 3-0 shutout victory at Iowa. Ryan Jones scored the third goal late in the third period.

Antti and Patric each had 5 shots on goal, while Jones scored on his only shot (admittedly he was playing with Mike Santorelli and Kelsey Wilson, while O'Reilly was centering the top line).

The forwards we iced tonight are simply not going to cut it. Additionally, the drop-off between our top 3 defenseman and bottom 3 defenseman is drastic. Devries has fallen off the face of the earth, Zanon is....well Zanon (a hard working 6/7th defenseman), Klein will not get a chance with this organization (as seen by his handling the past 3 years), and Koistenen is lost with out Zidlicky. We need 2 scoring wingers and a 4th defenseman. I think the defenseman is in this organization. I also think we can go out and get the winger's we need to improve this offense. Does Poile have the creativity to make something happen here? Are internal options the best fit for this team? Is Devries movable from a lockerroom standpoint? Would anyone want him?

I do not know the answers. I do know that this team is sitting about where they should record wise, and higher expectations are simply unrealistic at this point. It will be interesting to see how things shake out in the coming weeks.

(I know, Eklund, but...) The other day Eklund had a list of rumors and one of them was a deal around deVries for Vermette (with of course additions on one/both sides).

That was really nice of us to let that guy just walk from the circle into the crease without so much as touching him until Ellis stopped him. Anybody feel like playing D?

0-7 on PP doesn't help either.

Caught the game late, I have one comment on it and echo what spank303 posted. I would LOVE to see our so called d-men when around our net let Ellis find the puck instead of them with their heads down trying to find the it, while the opposing players are crashing. Turn around and DEFEND the "body" and put somebody on their arse!!!! Ok, I have two, nice pass WARD!

I would just as soon trade them both at this point and call up Sulzer and Franson, and sit De Vries. Koistinen is slow and easily physically dominated down low, and Klein hasn't been that great in his own end, plus he is in Trotz's doghouse with seemingly no chance of getting out within the next millennium or two.

we desperately need more of a shake-up ASAP. Most of the tentative fanbase here won't tolerate the product we are icing right now. I am really frustrated with the caliber of D talent we have in Mil. that we are settling for such mediocrity below the top pairing. Inexcusable.

Vermette has blown chunks this season, but if it gets De Vries off the roster...
