He has been impressive indeed. I was expecting far, far less.

You've left the noble bachelor ranks? In all seriousness, congratulations!

Anyone know if Biron is starting tonight? I have Biron and Bryz in one of my Keeper leagues and I need to choose one or alternatively, if Biron isn't actually starting, I could just "start" Biron so that neither of my Gs played seeing as I'm winning the goaltending categories anyways.

After a ton of rest and a shutout, I'd bet on Biron starting.

It's been confirmed that Bryz is not starting.

Neither are starting according to Meltzer.

Same. I was expecting him to take some time getting back into it and then maybe midway through the season we'd see the Gagne of old if he didn't suffer a setback. I did not expect new and improved Super Gagne.

I would expect him to hit a wall at some point where the fact that he was off for so long will catch up with his body and he'll have to gut through it for a bit. This season is so tough on these guys physically, it's hard to imagine him not having that problem at some point.

He's also benefiting from the early season incohesiveness that really favors fast players who can take advantage of chaos...which will slow him down somewhat as things coalesce.

One thing is for certain, our ability to score shorthanded is going to freak teams out if it keeps up, and with Richards, Gagne, and Carter all out there with speed at the top to go the other way...teams are going to be very careful, which will hinder their scoring ability against us.

As to tonights game...it has trap game written all over it after getting out of dodge last night. A Western team...not a lot of animosity btwn them. It will be interesting what type of energy we come out with.

Agreed with all of that. I can see Gagne slowing down and I can see us blowing this game.

For a change of pace:

Gagne's first Lamborghini is for sale on ebay. Starting bid is $40,000.

This car is being sold by the second owner. The original owner was Simon Gagne -- the star forward for the Philadelphia fliers hockey team! Simon's name is in the original owner's manual and in other documents that come with the car. There is also a 2005 parking pass for the Wachovia complex where the fliers play their home games. If you or a friend is a big hockey fan they will flip when they hear you are considering purchasing Simon Gange's car!
Fail.

It would be cool to see Alberts, Sbisa, Kalinski or Nodl get their first goal with the Flyers. I call Sbisa getting his 1st NHL goal, probably will be wrong but what the hey.

Let's go Flyguys, make it 4 in a row.

how happy are you (we) that no attempt was made to bring him back during the playoffs?

Congrats.

I would say Alberts is steady. He certainly isn't making the poor decisions in his own end. I think he is playing with some confidence. Maybe he had jitters going to a new team.

I think the Yotes are basically the Flyers of the Eastern conference. Lots of young studs, D with some good potential (I like Yandle), and wildly inconsistent.

Should be fun.

My vcash bets for the day:
Sens over Rags
Canucks over Pens
Flyers over Coyotes
Columbus over Atlanta
Boston over Habs
Chicago over Toronto

I dont necessarily think my picks will win, but i like the payout/change to win ratio.
