For most of my generation ~25 years old, it's been a bitter Montreal winter as far as hockey is concerned until the past few years.

Finally we are the team to beat and our arch rivals (including the Leafs) will go ******* and think they have landed on Mars even if they win one game in 12 and will hoist a nobody to the heavens for goading an elite player of ours into a fight and "winning" (after a week doesn't look as convincing)!

The pressure of being the favourites is something VERY foreign to most of us and you know what, for all the sickness it causes in my gut and the nerves and the intensity, this is EXACTLY what we want. This is exactly what hockey is about and what being a die-hard (can there be another type?) fan of the Montreal Canadiens is about. It's about rising above the hard times and into our glorious place in history and there's not a better player to exemplify that for us than St. Patrick. I hope Carey takes it all in and we one day see 31 hanging next to 33.

GO HABS GO!
Favorites?? u must be a bruins fan right?? J/K anyways anyone have montreals lineup for tonight or has it not been decided yet? Thanks!

nope, I think it will be a surprise a la chicken Carbonnara. Also I meant favourites going into the season. I realize the situation has changed (temporarily). Even still, Bruins like playing the underdog card vis a vis the last game.

lol! The fist pump after the fight is goon material... Lucic is a glorified goon im sorry but he is so overrated... he is gonna average 40pts a year in his career and over 100pims

I think the only reason Lucic is playing on the first line is to protect the two biggest pansies in the league

Bruins fan coming in peace.

I thought Roy was excellent. Do all Hab fans still love him ?...He left Montreal in a hurry after telling the management off...just wondering how the fans took that ?

Hope for a great game

how is two loss the end of domination ?

The Boston Bruins are not the same team at the bell center! The last 25 meetings proves it:

Montreal won 21 games - Boston won 4 games

3 of 4 are at Boston

So the bruins won 1 game in the last 13 regular season meeting at the Bell + 1 game in the playoff on 3 games. that's 2-16!
True, but all you have to do is look at those 2005-2006, 2006-2007 teams. Absolutely terrible. Last year's team was just bad against Montreal.

Sure, you destroyed the Bruins the past three seasons, but who cares? This is 2008-2009 - and by my count, the B's are 1-0-1 against the Habs, which isn't too shabby.

I think tonight's game will be close, but part of me isn't looking forward to it because the B's played last night.

Didn't the Bruins play the night before the last time we met as well? And we all know how that turned out.

um actually habs have destroyed the bruins, save for a tiny period in the early late 80's early 90's - for 75 years. the B's may have been 'terrible' during those two years but the habs were by no means super powers either. + remember the two previous playoffs between both teams? who was the dominant team? who blew the 3-1 series lead?
exactly. Boston
