Could be three + more late rounders with the departure of Dmac.

we'd be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for Dmac at this point. maybe the vikings or someone like that will pay that but i doubt anyone would give us a 1st. mcnabb's scheduled to make 9+ mil next year. they would gain just over 7 million on the cap... no way in heck he's back and everyone knows that if we don't trade him we'll just cut him anyway.

No, I think if you fire Reid, you blow it all up.

I agree that firing Reid would require quite a few shakeups for this team.

It's worth the risk...after that 2nd and goal play, I'm entirely done with Reid. No support for him. I never used to mind him but that play totally ruined it for me. Funny thing is I heard it on the radio and Merril did an amazing job of explaining how terrible that down was.

One of my favorite things was last night when Howard Eskin got stonewalled by Vai Sikehema and whoever the other guy was. I mean he got owned. Eskin was defending Andy to the ends of the earth. "Well you know, Andy has a lot of things to do at halftime"

“Donovan is the quarterback for this football team,” Reid said toward the end of his news conference. “I don’t want to leave here until you understand that.”

http://www.philly.com/dailynews/brea...art_at_QB.html

Oh, Andy, he is? And what if Kevin Kolb had even a modicum of success against the Ravens defense yesterday and it was close at the end -- would McNabb still be the QB for this football team? What a clown. Andy is backpedalling so fast, I'm surprised he didn't trip and fall flat on his back during the press conference. The guy is a total mess right now, and no one can convince me that he hasn't lost the locker room.

You may shake your head, but are you surprised?

Andy benched McNabb because he played poorly 2 games in a row. (7 quarters, 1 TD pass, 7 INT's)

NOT BECAUSE ANDY IS SENDING McNABB PACKING

Andy sent a message to D-Mac. Benching Mcnabb is like saying, "No one is above being benched on this team. I am the coach (for now) and if you play like 2nd string you will be 2nd string."

I agree with benching D-Mac.

Honestly, it was one of the few smart moves Andy has made recently. (Not starting Gaither was also smart. His replacement had a team high 9 tackles.)

If Kolb had a good game, then of course Andy would act differently.

You need to realize that coaches make decisions that are ALL gambles. Some moves end up looking good when they work, others look dumb when they fail.

Examples - Andy benches Omar Gaither, his replacement has 9 tackles and leads the team yesterday. Ok, not a bad move Andy.

Andy benches a struggling McNabb, Kolb comes out and throws 2 td passes and Eagles win. Wow, great job Andy.

Andy benches a struggling McNabb, Kolb sucks nuts. Therefore, Andy sucks nuts.

The play calling is what kills me more then anything with this team.

That, and their inability to get a ******* Wide Reciever. (Which may or may not be Andy's fault)

I do realize it and am never hesitant to give credit where it's due. Had the game yesterday been more out-of-reach at the half -- and against a less terrorizing defense -- I would have been more likely to agree with the decision. I liked the fat man finally showing some balls, but it wasn't the right time to make that move (and that's excluding the fact that Kolb has NEVER taken reps with the first team).

Back to the press conference...

It's just the way that Andy said it with such conviction that I found amusing, as if anyone is really going to be fooled into thinking McNabb is still actually the QB for this team. The guy's career as a Philadelphia Eagle ends in five games. Even when the contrary is blatantly obvious, Andy still tries to treat the media and public like a bunch of imbeciles. I feel for Donovan in this situation -- he knows he's a lame duck and will basically just be auditioning for other teams the rest of the season.

Looking forward to more hilariously bad play-calling on Thursday, the inevitable wrath of the crowd, and whatever post-game vitriol is sure to ensue. Oh, joy!

Reid got up and left not less than a minute after he said that, so I guess everyone got the message before he left

I can't wait for our defense to get absolutely torn up, the antics should be fun. And no, I'm not surprised Andy went back on his word.

Sour bonus: While the game was still tight, Baltimore backup linebacker Jameel McClain blocked a Philadelphia punt out of the end zone for a Ravens safety. McClain came straight through the middle unblocked, and the Eagles had no up back to protect the punter -- the Eagles were spread wide for kick coverage. Until this season, Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh was Philadelphia's special teams coach. Please don't tell me Philadelphia made the classic mistake of facing a former coach and failing to alter the tactics he installed and knew how to beat!
How much do you want to bet this is what happened?

We're talking about a punt. Chris Gocong blocked no one on the play and missed his block. It wasn't tactics, it was execution.

Not only that, but TMQ missed that they did in fact have an up back. His name was Sean Considine, and it should shock no one that he missed the block every bit as much as Gocong.

Suicide Pool

Cowboys over Seahawks
or
Titans over Lions

This is the last favorable matchup for the Cowboys and the Titans have two coming up, so I think I'm going Cowboys. They're also at home and the bigger favorite.

I love that people really think Reid might be fired at the end of this season. Unless they end up with 6 wins or less, there is no chance of that happening.
