I'd probably be willing to dump him for salary reasons at this point. Get back some nice picks/prospects, give us some cap breathing room for the rest of the year and next year, and plug Briere into his vacated spot on the wing.

I've never been a fan of teams trading away players who are slumping, but if it would benefit in the long run, it would certainly be good. I do like Lups, I would be sad to see him go.

Just think of

Exactly people are to quick to dissmiss a player in a slump, hell flyers fans are reknowned for doing it. Briere anybody.

Yet they are quick to forget washington playoffs, how about the penguins hattrick in the season, or the Atlanta game where he went the length of the ice himself?

He's not worth his salary next year. It makes sense to move him.

I agree Lupul is not worth his salary next year.

However, moving him would net very little in return, unless he stepped up his game.

At which point, we wouldn't need to move him.

We need to move some salary from the forwards anyway. He makes the most sense whether he earns his raise or not. It was dumb to re-sign him when they did.

Problem is, between those flashes of brilliance there is a whole lot of nothing. He really brings nothing to the table besides his offense and to me, the hot streaks just aren't worth the much longer cold streaks.

I guess I'd be okay with moving Lupul for the right return, however I don't think we'll get that return from the Blues.

If you are a proponent of trading Lupul in the right deal (I am), then you want him to turn it around and be the player he can be before making a deal. It doesn't make sense to advocate a salary dump...you don't get much in salary dumps.

I love the hypocrisy on here. Lupul is in a slump, everyone wants to deal him. Fartnell has done nothing since coming to Philadelphia and he gets a free pass. If there's any forward in Philadelphia that needs to go, it's Hartnell. A complete and utter waste of roster space and money, yet people on here love him. I really don't get it.

And this is coming from a huge Lupul fan.

hartnell has been producing and he's not a waste of ice-time when he isn't scoring. lupul this season has had little offensive success, hasn't been moving as well as he should be, and has been a liability defensively. he needs to get motivated, but all he's shown is frustration.

If it's just a salary dump, I'd much rather see Hartnell go than Lupul.

I agree about the timing of his extension. It was stupid. Our GM has made some sweet trades, but the contracts he is handing out are suspect.

lupul just does everything quietly. hes efforts has stepped up though. I don't think we need to trade him. He does put up some points so it gives him value. he has 8 goals and has a reputation for a sniper so some teams could want him. he better go to a western conference team cause i can't bear for him to bite us in the ass.

He is nowhere near a player he was last year and he is making 2.8M. For 4.2Ma year that? Get real.

Guy better step up and play like he is capable. No half ass efforts. He throws 1 or 2 hits a game like he is doing this team a favor. He is basically the same player he was in Edmonton. Lazy, unmotivated with big ego.

Like him this season? I do not think so. Him and Hartnell developed that friendship and some bad habits along the way. Better get their crap together real soon. A little over 8M in salary and that type of effort is unacceptable.

He does have talent tough.

This time last year Lupul last year was leading the team in hits, was all over the ice offensively and defensively, he just seems flat this year and his cap hit next year, the rate hes going, I don't think he will be worth it. He slumps hard and Homer overpaid him.

Lupul I think can get a higher draft pick than Hartnell

OR

Now in my perfect world I wish there would be a way to land Tkachuk for Lupul and maybe someone else. Tkachuk whos cap hit is $4.000.000. That would be .250 less than Lupuls next season. Flyers need some heavy grit up and down the lineup, id take Jackman for the ame reason.

I like Lupul and I hope he stays. There is no one from St. Louis that I would want.

If the Flyers decide to deal him, I think they'll do fine on a Lupul trade. He's still young, and has had two fairly good offensive seasons. Any team that has trouble attracting FAs should have interest. The Flyers won't be looking for expensive top 6 or 4 players in return for him, so a deal shouldn't be that difficult to complete.

I'm a big Lupul fan, but there's no denying he's been dogging it this year and I accepted at the end of last year that Lupul and Umberger were going to need to go for us to keep the corps together and get some more money on defense, specifically for Coburn.

This rumor, but I'd get used to Lupul rumors between now and next season.
