I really hope that's what they will do but I doubt Fletcher will bring back someone he got rid of.

if i was fletcher, i'd take a pass, when he wants to, belak can certainly fight, but he doesn't seem to want to fight much anymore, the leafs need someone like carcillo.

Exactly, Fletcher fired for the failure to aquire Wade Belak and solidify a real run at making the playoffs.

Think he was joking about the impending hiring of one Brian Burke.

Funny comments in this thread. Seems appropriate since it's a Wade Belak thread.

I got the joke, I just liked the added Belak sentiment as a B.S. exuse to fire somebody.

I would venture a 'yes' answer to that one.

And for the record, my "obsolete" jerseys:
-- Senators Ray Emery [left the team after one controversy-ridden year]
-- Toronto Wade Belak [bought in 02/03 when he was still #2, two weeks after purchase Leafs traded for Leetch and Belak changed his number to #3]
-- Toronto Kyle Wellwood [had half a good season after I bought it, then had one injury prone out of shape season and was waived]
-- Nashville Steve Sullivan [suffered apparent career-ending injury less than a month after i got it]
-- Florida Wade Belak [we know this one]
-- Toronto Blue Jays Reed Johnson [suffered season-ending back injury shortly after purchase, was released in the off-season]
-- Colorado Matt Holliday [I at least had this one for one full season before he was dealt recently]
-- Finland national team Ville Nieminen [has not played for the team since I got the jersey]
-- Minnesota Twins Pat Neshek [still on the team, but was injured shortly after I got the jersey, and has played sparingly since, now will undergo Tommy John Surgery and miss all of 2009]
-- Buffalo Maxim Afinogenov [not obsolete per se, but he's been useless since I got it]

Ones I have customized that aren't invalid - yet:
-- Minnesota Marian Gaborik
-- Phoenix Shane Doan
-- Washington Alexander Ovechkin [though they announced that they'd change their logo/jerseys a month after I bought it]

So uh, those two better watch out I guess. I also have blank Toronto, Atlanta, and Team Canada jerseys.

I think I will avoid customized jerseys from now on.

I'd also suggest players who don't suck. Teams are far more likely to hold on to those players.

I, for one, am glad we have the Good Doctor Hate around to guide us appropriately on what teams and what players we should or should not cheer for. If I did not have the tutelage of Doctor Hate in my life, perhaps I would be forced to try to enjoy hockey in my own way, through my own means, perish the thought! No, thankfully, Doctor Hate's patented method of cheering for the expected front-runner players and teams has saved my brain all kinds of hard thinking. Now if you excuse me, my Wayne Gretzky jersey needs to be washed and I still need to vote for Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin for the All-Star Game.
