So after 19 games last season, were we not 11-5-3?
We had 61 GF and 50 GA, so instead this year without Streit, without Kovalev playing as well so far, without komisarek playing as well, and without a dangerous PP we are 11-5-3 58 GF and 51 GA.
There's gotta be a reason alot of experts picked us to be strong this year.
Last year, BG and Carbo brought in SKost, and since he came in the team took off...he was their missing piece last year...
Maybe we're just one move away again...
Chip? D'ago? Weber? a Trade?
this is exactly why no one should be panicking. although it has looked rough as of late, it is still early, and they can go on to a good regular season record. in the end though that is not the most important thing. the objective is to make the playoffs, and then this is where the fun begins. you do not need to finish first in the league to win the cup. This is the ultimate goal. anyone who is crying about the team so far this season clearly needs to take a chill pill.
pretty cool to see that we practically have the same numbers as last year. I do think that we are missing a few pieces to be that much better, but still impressive nevertheless.

That's absolutely the truth. As much as we'd love to see the team be able to compete at 100% every night for the whole season and playoffs, the reality is that it's a long season, and I keep thinking that they're maybe pacing themselves a bit.
After the all-star game, into the stretch and gearing up for the playoffs is what will really tell the tale.

Last season we never really got destroyed in any of the regulation time losses, IIRC (maybe the Buffalo 4-1 win). This year, in these 5 losses, we allowed 6 goals three times, and Price had to make 46 saves against the Canes. Anyways, it proves nothing really, the season is young, and a lot of stuff could still happen, but I'm just saying that we didn't lose the same way last season.
And again, the pure record being more important than the way we are playing....
So be it people....just remind yourself that if your team's own record is the only thing that is important, there are teams that missed the playoffs that were over a.500 record.....
Thing is, the record of the teams around you is important and so is the way you're playing so you can build something interesting for the playoffs since it was suppose to be OUR year....

The team hasn't been playing well lately, I agree. But bringing up the fact that our record is very similar to last year's is just a reminder that it is a long season, we'll have ups and downs, and despite our current cries of woe, the team is not doing that badly. There is room for improvement, of course, but that will apply until we go 82-0 (and 16-0 in the playoffs). I'd rather have a dry spell now than later.
I think what you guys need is to call up MaxPac... i loved watching him during the preseason
Having him flying all over the ice could set a good example for the rest of the team because it just seems like your stars (besides Koivu) aren't playing with any heart out there

yikes... is that indicative of how well he has been playing?
Well he DOES also have 9 assists...but ya I think he maybe is having a few problems adjusting. Not easy for a 19 year old player who was playing in the USHL less than 2 years ago to make the jump to the AHL. Also Hamilton is an extremely young team this year...
He'll have a better second half of the year i'm sure.

Saying that the team has the same record as last year, could also mean ending the season the same way; 2nd round playoff exit......but really it means nothing.
The team has played like **** for the past 2 weeks.
Yes, teams have their ups and downs....I just hope the Habs have moved their typical December meltdown into November.
