Player interest from CBJ fan

Sorry folks, I'm not trying to troll. I understand Atlanta has interest in a center. We appear to be in pretty good shape at C but need a spot for Fritsche to open up. Would Atlanta have any interest in Cassels? He's more likely a 2nd line center but great on the PP and I would think a possible good compliment in Atlanta.

Obviously we're not looking for much in return but need to open a spot and wondered if there would be any interest. I'm sure Dougie would pick up some salary....2 years left at approx. $3 mil/yr.

Thanks!

I would be interested, but then again it is hard to make a deal when there are so many C's out there you can just sign for free.

No thanks. Cassels time in the NHL is coming to an end, his stats last season were horrible (apart from his PP) and for 3mil a year for another two seasons it is a very BAD investment.

Thanks for the feedback. In his defense, he was injured and struggled after that. I don't think last season is respresentative of him as a player. I agree his is on the down side of his career but I think he's 35 and certainly useful. He'll help us, I just would rather see Fritsche in there because even with Cassels we're not playoff caliber yet. Atlanta is much closer and sometimes a good vet can help.

He'll likely get his 60-65 points for us this year. I won't complain. Just seeing what interest level might be there.

Good luck.

Yeah, Cassels is getting older fast and wouldn't fit in on our young team that well.

Good luck.
If Cassells puts up 60pts in the NHL next year, regardless of whether it's for the CBJs or elsewhere, I'll buy you lunch.
