How many Hart trophies will Crosby win?

Yes I know there is no way for anybody to know. Injuries can happen, some kid we have never heard of can become the next Gretzky etc.

This is just meant for fun and to see how many Hart's people think Crosby will have at the end of his career.

He already has 1 and IMO he will win 6 more finishing with 7.

I voted 4. I think he has too much competition from Ovechkin, Malkin, and stars not yet in the league to get much more. He's certainly not far and away the best player in the league like Gretzky was when he got all the Harts.

He's 21 and already has an impressive collection of trophies. I would guess more than 4.

I said 5, he already has one and is 21, assuming he has a long healthy career (Knocking on wood), I think it's safe to say he'll win at least another 4 with this kind of play, I would say more if there was no other young stars like Ovechkin and Malkin, but his competition will be tough and 5 for his potential is safe to say.

I predict 6 or 7.

I think he will rank 2nd to Gretzky when everything is said and done, both from an award standpoint (Hart, Art Ross, etc.) and a statistical standpoint (points).

I went with four, that being the absolute worst case scenario.

3-5.

I am a huge fan and think he's the best player in the world, but there will be too much competition yearly from Malkin and Ovechkin for him to get 7 or 8 or some absurdly high number like that.

He doens't score enough goals, if any of Ovechkin, Malkin future star x gets near him. Crosby shoudn't win. Expect a few goaltender harts and maybe 1 or 2 defencemen harts aswell. I'd say 3-4 is a realistic number, Crosby is not Gretzky,Orr. Atleast until he proves it.

I said 5. But as for Art Ross Trophies I think I would say 7. From a points standpoint he is the best in the NHL (I know Malkin is ahead of him now but it is early and look at Crosby's surge and Malkin's dive in the playoffs last year). A lot of guys will give him a run for his money. What the guy needs to do is shoot more I think. But I think he'll end up with 4 Cups and 5 Harts by the time his career is complete.

~3 seems about right to me. Great player but there are other greats aswell Malkin, Ovechkin, Luongo, Lundqvist, Thornton and a few more. Not to mention Victor Hedman will probably stack up a few when his time in the NHL comes

I said four total (three more). I don't think it will be more than four for the following reasons:

1) The game doesn't get dominated any more be a single player, combine this with:

2) It seems harder to win the Hart with each consecutive award because of additional attention paid to you by coaches and writers wanting to spread the wealth around to other deserving players. Plus for Crosby, he's always going to have writers voting against him because he plays on the same team as Malkin (who I predict won't win any Hart trophies), so if it's a close race they'll probably throw it to the other guy for these two reasons.

So for any player on any era, but particularly in this day of age, four is pretty phenomenal!

It's funny that that sounds low but Mario Lemieux only had 3 Hart Trophies, same with Bobby Orr.

The only players to have 4 or more: Wayne Gretzky (9), Gordie Howe (6), and Eddie Shore (4)

Some time around when Orr was playing, the Hart become less about the literal, most valuable player, and more about the best player in the league. Around the 50s, Howe didn't win the Hart several times due to Detroit's depth even though he was the consensus best player almost every year. It's not very cut and dried, but by the time Gretzky came into the NHL, the perceived best player usually won the Hart, with the exception of one or to two sympathy/biased votings like Gretzky over Lemieux in 88-89 and Messier over Lemieux in 91-92. So I think it's not so much that Malkin plays on the same team as Crosby that could cause the latter to win less Harts, but rather that Malkin is the same class of player as Crosby--as well as Ovechkin and maybe even Kane in the near future. It seems too early to tell right now, but some goalies and D will most likely enter this top tier as well by the time Crosby is midway into his career. I say he'll win 3.
