I want to say that it's silly to blame a loss on one player. I really, really do, especially since I feel bad for what happened. It can happen to anyone.

But this game really was lost by one player. It's sad, but the team will get over it. The effort was there, which I'm happy about at least.

We actually won battles in the corners, we were the first to loose pucks and made an effort to backcheck. I know the counter-argument of "It's just the Islanders!!!" but it's still a hard working team that the Canadiens outworked. It means something, especially since it's such a marked improvement over the way the team's been playing.

I hope O'Byrne steps up his play, but I honestly have no idea what's going to happen with him now. I'm pulling for him, and hopefully he takes this opportunity to improve his play and prove something.

Its really tough to be a habs fan lately...

Bruins fans are laughing at us (and beating us on the ice) , Lucic injures Komisarek, hab's are losing alot more then they are winning. Now O'Byrne scores on his own net costing the habs a victory. Now the whole league is laughing.

its been a rough few weeks, wow.

The only positive is, that its just regular season. In the playoffs nobody is going to care about a November loss to the Islanders. (if we make the playoffs, lol... we will)

I'm so upset right now I don't think I could even come close to putting it into words. We played a very good game tonight. Far better then we've played over the past few weeks. There was actual effort there and some great chances. I'd finish this thought but if I start talking about the end of the game...I may get even more upset

Habs fans are pathetic and awful!
Granted it was an error...but simply put this is undeniably a loss that O'Byrne created....there is no argument possible. If not for his own goal we would have won the game.

Kovalev had bad moments, but he played one of his best game this season, lots of chances, he did everything but score, made some great passes.

O'Byrne That was one of the most epic failures i ever seen, even more failtacular than McCabe's own goal of last year, or was it last year... ? anyways

NY Islanders 15:13, Bill Guerin 8 (empty net) (unassisted)

At least Price didn't get dinged for that one.

I hope I'm not the only one who want to see O'byrne to be sent down...He just plays terrible....terrible I say! Give Weber a chance, can't be worst, even if it is just 2-3 games!

So O'byrne steals purse and scores in our own net...what a player.

Meh, a win would have only masked the problem that our offense cannot produce anymore. No finishing touch, looks like we have 6 Chris Higgins on the top two lines.

Yeah, but at the end of the day, it should never come down to a wonky play when it's a team like ours against a team like that.

O'Byrne's been partially responsible for our last 3 loses. Took a pointless penalty a few games ago, the opposing team took the lead. The Boston game. This one. He'll have a great game then his one mistake always seems to lead to a goal. He needs to play less minutes.

On the bright side, he's the only hab to hit an empty net tonight.

You just have posts like this ready and waiting to go, you don't even watch the games, how he will play is all ready decided long before for you.

O'Byrne didn't score the goal that made it 4-3 for the Isles. His own-goal made it 3-3. Like I said, we had two powerplays afterwards and the shootout to try and win it and we didn't score a single goal.

O'Byrne did not "lose" us this game per se. It was tied.
