And you wonder why a guy like Brisebois wanted to come back to this...Montreal fans are awful and pathetic, can't say it enough.

So many were on the kids Bandwagon, now they have thrown him under it!

The positives to take from this game are that the defensive play was very strong at even strength, the power play scored a couple of goals and the opposition was held to two goals or less (at least while there was a goalie between the pipes).

The negatives are that the penalty kill was awful again and the power play hardly looked good despite the goals.

I really feel like a lot of things are in place for this team to go on a bit of a winning streak right now. They're losing games they should be winning which often happens before a winning streak. Similar to how they were winning games they should have been losing before the recent losing streak.

The one concern I have about the defensive play at even strength is how often the first forward on the back check let's their man go straight to the net without being covered adequately. It didn't burn them tonight, but it will if they don't fix it soon.

Who cares! If O'Byrne doesn't do that, we win. Everybody played great, good effort, we missed tons of chances but we would've won anyway.

He cost the game and he's playing a role that Gainey and Carbo put him into. I keep saying that even Dandenault would be better but if it take that, it's better than nothing.

I agree Kov was all over the place tonight creating chances for you guys. He seemed most noticable especially towards the end. Kinda surprised to see anyone mention negatives on him.

For the last 4-5 games, Obyrne is directly responsible for a goal in each game.

I would call multiple scoring chances, being planted infront of the net all night, fighting for loose pucks and skating hard playing a good game.

You anti-Kovalev guys are getting real old, real quick. I'm the first to say he's played horrible lately, least you guys can do is show some character and admit he played well.

Damn shame. Poor kid is going to have a rough go forgetting about that play. Too bad the team couldn't seal the deal on any of the number of PP chances that followed that.

I love the energy of the Bell Centre crowd but chanting the kids name at the final whistle is garbage.

Good game overall though. Good energy and lots of chances to score, the offense needs to bury some pucks soon or this point might actually come back to haunt us.

Congrats to Gorges on his 1st goal as a Hab! As far as O'Byrne goes maybe this will smarten him up and he'll start thinking and playing better in the future.

Well said. Change this ****ing title. It was a team loss. They couldn't put it into the net, even though they played great for most of the game.

I'm proud of them, especially Higgins and Gorges who were in my opinion our two best players tonight.

I think what we have here is an opportunity. The QE2 isn't gong to be sailing anywhere for a while by the sounds of it, so maybe we can rent the horn off its new owners. We can then strap it to Andrei Kostitsyn so he can use it as a method of alerting his linemates to his presence on the ice. It'll slow him down a bit, but in the long run, I think it could pay off. Just think, he may get as many as 3, maybe 4 passes a game then!

I feel sorry for O'B. Can bet he will get his head up next time he needs to make a pass near his own net. He hasn't been great this year but he doesn't deserve that, poor kid.

Credit to Gorges for the goal. Great to see him finally score

Roll on Detroit. I predict we beat 'em. Go Habs Go

Not the nicest thing but Carbo and Gainey put the kid in that position. He's not ready. Wasn't ready before, not ready today and will now not be ready in 1 week or so.

Time to send him back to gain his confidence something the org. should have been doing a long time ago.

Get real. The fans have every right to ***** and moan about O'byrne's garbage tonight.

I've played hockey for 14 years, and none of my teams have managed to do this.. house hockey for christ sake.. and i've never seen this before.

It's a mistake that should NEVER be made, this is professional hockey, nothing wrong with a little accountability.

Unbelievable picking on a guy like O'Byrne. You guys are nuts sometimes. In my opinion this game is nothing more than a shadow of the last few games the habs have had and there inability to put teams away on the power play which is horrible. Lately the habs have either been winning games or loosing games by one point and the more that goes on the more bad brakes like this will happen. Its a bad habit of getting into.

I think it is totally useless blaming this on one guy. It will just take away the attention of the collective inconsistency this team has been having this year.

When it is all said and done a play like this will have the effect of regrouping the guys and have them realize they need to play better hockey. Short term its a hard pill to swallow, long term it has is benefits.

Ok I know O'Byrne's play was absolutely stupid but...

When you go 1 for 7 on the PP against a bunch of AHL scrubs with an AHL goalie do you really deserve to win?

When your top 3 lines can't even score 1 goal against the New York Islanders do you think they really deserve to win the game?

Hasn't scored now in 10 games, what is positive about that?

Close but no cigar to me is as bad or worse than that of O'Byrne.

Why blame it all on O'Byrne? Yes, it was a huge mistake but we STILL CAN"T FREAKING DAMN SCORE. Face it, we can't score. The isles aren't that good of a team, we played good but we have to finish and we didn't.
