Habs were up 3-2 in the closing minutes and on a delayed penalty Obyrne shot it into the empty net that tied the game and of course the Isles won in the SO

I have him too, but I bought him low.

traded:

Umberger, Conklin and Lupul

for

Staal and Ryder.

Then Hooked Ryder for Hartnell since I needed LW.

god damn luongo just got injured though.

He had a Hattrick against Phoenix and an assist tonight, but yeah. Carolina is skidding a bit. Lost their last two. I think we can extend their losing streak to three, then to four

who is this Tim Panaccio and how did he get so stupid?

Quote:
Besides being one of the NHLís best, all-time power play quarterbacks, Dallas defenseman Sergiei Zubov has been around 16 seasons. Heís smart enough to know how to avoid dangerous collisions.

At the start of the second period, Zubov got caught in a puck chase with Upshall, who wanted to avoid an icing. Rather than risk having Upshall slam him, Zubov deftly slid at the last instant, fooling the officials into a tripping penalty, giving the Stars a power play, that saw shots and traffic in front of Biron.
right...

Good win, although I was hoping someone would bash Avery's face in. The refs were ********. Upshall didn't trip Zubov. And what did we have, like one PP?
Knuble still has skill; Coburn needs help; and Mike Richards, I will have your babies.

To the 2 poters above Miss Mess, Timmy DID actually get it wrong. Zubov didn't intentionally slide just to draw a penalty, he was trying to lean to use his body to shield Upshall off the puck so Upshall couldn't negate the icing. However, Zubov did it so late and in an acward position that he just lost and edge and went hard into the boards. He DID seem to embellish the play a bit but he still went into the boards awefully hard. No player, not even when trying to draw a penalty, intentionally goes into the boards in that position and that hard. Zubov CLEARLY lost and edge and accidentally fell causing him to slide into the boards hard and acwardly.

If the first guy was trying to imply that Upshall CAUSED Zubov to fall and that it WAS a penalty, I guess you just haven't been watching hockey for very long. If that's the case then I think it would be safe to assume that you are a Stars fans and haven't ever played hockey let alone actually know anything about the sport. I hope this isn't the case because YOU would be the one looking foolish with your stupid comment about what another person saw happen.

Agreed, Zubov wasn't trying to dive into the boards. He just braced himself and lost and edge.

Yeah, that's actually pretty moronic from Tim, but I would expect no less. Zubov tripped himself up, but it wasn't on purpose. It was purely an accidental play that didn't deserve a penalty or blame.

Great picture of the captain. He's young as hell but it's always a thrill to be feet away from him. That's how I felt with Preems and Forsberg.

During the broadcast last night they showed stats from a player poll conducted last year.

In the most hated player in the league category, Sean Avery DOMINATED the voting, with a whopping 66% of the vote.

Other honorable mentions - Marc Savard, Sidney Crosby

Though the announcer mentioned "Mark" Knuble by mistake, maybe the Flyers should add Steve Knuble to the team staff:

Quote:

The Flyers will visit Carolina Wednesday night. The Hurricanes will visit the Wachovia Center Friday to complete the home-and-home ... Mike Knuble’s brother Steve has become something of a lucky charm for the Flyers. In the three games Steve has attended this season, Mike has scored a total of five goals ...

Another sweet win last night!

I missed the last two periods 'cause I went to the Canucks/Wings game, but nice to see a solid offensive output and another goal from Carter!

I've missed parts or all of the last three games... all victories. A superstitious person would probably take that as a sign.
