Greene - Quincey
Harrold - Gauthier

Ersberg

Injuries:

CALGARY
Rhett Warrener
Jim Vandermeer

LOS ANGELES
Jack Johnson
Marc-Andre Cliche

Keys to tonights game:
  • Shooting Gallery: The Flames had success against Colorado when putting every possible puck on net. The Kings also have the lowest shots against in the league. With a relativley new goalie in net for the Kings, the best bet for the Flames is to get the the shot count up.
  • Play for 60 minutes, not 50: The Flames played pretty well against Detroit on Saturday, but in the last 10 minutes of the game, really started playing sloppily. The Kings do have some skilled players and will make Calgary pay if they start to slack off.
  • Look to Langkow: Daymond Langkow has been sensational against the Kings in most games. Another strong performance by #22 could be the difference.

The last time the Flames played the Kings, it was the last game of a 6-game win streak. Let's start another one with a win tonight.

Hoping for a solid game and win. I would like to see the offence burst out of its shell as well as the PP.

Really like these lines. Hopefully Keenan sticks with them for more then a couple of shifts.

LA won't be easy and the flames will need a solid 60 minute effort. If we can continue to play like we have the last three games and get good goaltending we should come away with the win.

Go Flames Go

Boyd played his way onto the second line. Good....three lines capable of scoring there. Gotta like that.

Totally. I am so glad Boyd is doing so well this year and has earned his spot. He is a real bright spot.

Andrew Ference is on the hour now... too bad he is not on the team but oh well

Totally! I think getting a sniff with Iginla might help get Cammy kickstarted. I think he is a lot like Tanguay in the sense that he needs good linemates to produce. And it's awesome to see Lombo on that top unit - he seemed to have a lot of jump against Detroit, though with limited minutes.

Of course, as you said - these lines won't last more than one shift!

Maybe, but I think giving more ice time would be a better place to start. I don't understand why Keenan doesn't give him more minutes.

What a pass by Glencross...
Unfortunately, Conroy couldn't finish the nice set-up!

Anyways, Bourque does the job!!!

Not a bad period from the Flames. I thought they came on strong before the Bourque goal and then it paid off. Bertuzzi looks good carrying the puck and that 1st line is fun to watch. Lets keep it up in the second period!

Well not a bad period, but not really a good period either. The Flames just didn't seem to have that jump, that intensity to their game, as they had against Colorado or Detroit. They played very defensively, which is good. Very good. But there was a lot of lazy playing going on. Sloppy passes, standing around in their own zone. You cannot play this way and expect to win against the elite teams and the Flames should be very happy they have a two goal lead going into the second.

There are some high points of course. The forwards were very responsible in getting back into their own zone, and the forecheck of the first line was relentless. When the pressure was on in the King's zone the Flames took a ton of shots. Which is good if they were actually on net. Which was the problem with the powerplay unit in the first. They had great possesion, crisp passes, and alot of shots that were anywhere but on net.

The penalty kill was again flawless, with active sticks and keeping the Kings to the outside. Primeau is so deserving a goal anytime now. At least four times a game he has a glorious chance. Keep working at it bud, and you will be rewarded for the effort and hard work.

The Flames also need to keep a closer tab on the Brown and Kopitar line. Those two have been shooting at will, and thank god Miikka is looking so very steady and comfortable in net tonight. Those two keep getting all the chances they desire, and they will eventually bury one. So for the love of Stanley's Mug, key on those two and punish them when they touch your puck!!!

Hey Kiwi,
I noticed, that you have been much more active at Flames' games lately, so are you back in Canada or has your boss finally allowed you to watch hockey streams during work?
