Ottawa/Pittsburgh

To Pittsburgh:
Schubert
Bass

To Ottawa:
Sneep
2009 3rd

Not sure about the balance of it. . . I think Pittsburgh kind of wins this. You could do Grant instead of Sneep but then I think Ottawa would be winning it. I don't see throwing in another lesser Pittsburgh prospect as really sweetening it very much either. Doing a more proven puck mover like Whitney or Goligoski would require something better from Ottawa, and I think the best they'd have to offer would be their 1st.

Schubert and Bass would add some nice depth to the team, but no way Ottawa does this. They really don't gain much in return.

Pass. Where do you expect to put Cody Bass and Schubert? You are adding 2 more NHL roster spots and giving away a prospect and picks. Brutal trade for the Pens.

Reminder: This Penguin fans weird and lame trade proposal does not reflect that of the rest of the Penguins fan base. We are not represented by 1 member, we are all our own entity.
So please refrain from judging us solely on one poster's thoughts with trade proposals such as this.

my opinion. I think we need to cut, and not add some d-men.

Schubert is better as forward.

Not really interested in losing bass. He's our 3rd/4th line center next year

When Whitney is back, Eaton has got to go. Him and that unusually small noggin' of his. Is Schubert a better option on the 4th line than the revolving door of Dupuis, Cooke and Fedotenko? I don't think so.

Trade...Do not want.

Pointless trade for the pens. They need to upgrade with their prospects not get more of the same. If pittsburgh is targetting ottawa they are targetting vermette period. Good two way guy with skill.

Can't see the Sens doing this at all. Sneep isn't really that good.

I had it more in mind towards next year, in which Fedotenko would be gone, Kennedy could possibly be moved up to the top 6, and Gill and Scuderi would be gone and the Pens defensive depth would be lost. Schubert would kill two birds with one stone in having a 12th forward and a 7th d-man, and he'd help out on the PK next year, which will be hurting. Bass I just like.

No thanks...we shouldn't be giving away picks after not really having any last year...Sneep is coming along fine and if we wanted players like Schubert and Bass, we could pluck similar players off waivers without giving up a decent third pairing d-man prospect and a draft pick in a deep draft...

You don't know anything about the prospect then.

Too bad Bass has been playing awesome hockey. Schubert is a much better 6/7 than Richardson, and I'd rather not play that sack of crap. I'd take it, though. Not that much risk.

We already have Cooke to throw borderline hits and refuse to fight, we don't need Schubert, who backs his hits up even less.

Ok...Sure. I know he's horrible defensively. Sorry if that somehow offended you.

Sneep is what we need here in the future. With the offensive talent we have, he will add a nice all around presence in the bottom 4 for a cheap price.

No, it didn't offend me. You just don't know what you are talking about, that's all. He's still a prospect and in his 3rd year at BC. At this point, he's all about potential till he makes the AHL and starts to either show he can live up to the potential or prove it wrong.

Unless you are some sort of scout or sports analyst, you thinking he sucks means nothing to me.

It obviously means something as you found the need to post about it. I've seen him play a lot at BC... I think he'll end up being decent offensively, but so far he seems to be like a 4th forward out there.... Maybe he'll come out and start playing some defense... Maybe not. But from what I've seen he doesn't look like he'll be anything special.

From certain reports, Shero considers Sneep a prospect that he wouldn't willingly give up, FWIW.

Much prefer to keep Bass. He'll be a key guy in the future even though he may never score 10 goals in a season. He'll kill penalties, he'll match up against the other teams top players, and if Neil isn't brought back next year (which he shouldn't be), he'll be counted on to bring some toughness next season.
